David also served as President of the FAI and LFA.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our current chairman, and David’s brother Barney and family at this difficult time.

I POPPED up to Stanaway Park yesterday to cover two UCFL games and who was on the line at 11am, three hours before his own game, Francis Billardi.
He had come down to watch Lourdes 1st team play before St Maelruans took on Lourdes 2nds in the Sidney Bedlow Cup.

After the snow that fell last Thursday, Joe was out on Friday afternoon getting the pitch ready for two UCFL games on Saturday with six inches being removed.

AT THE start of the current campaign, preseason tournament included, I set a goal of covering every club competing in the UCFL for 2021/22.
On Saturday last I achieved that objective when Coolock Village FC was the last club to be covered on our Social Media pages.

The UCFL can confirm that the season must now be completed, i.e. from July 18 to Sept 14. All teams are asked to proceed on the assumption that the first competitive games will take place on the weekend of 20/07/2020.

I bumped into Sean Gannon of Shamrock Rovers today, one of the nicest men you could meet. I know Sean since he was a teenager, and anytime we meet he would always stop and talk.
No airs and graces about him, despite his success since he started playing League of Ireland.

JAMIE O’Reilly turned in a man-of-the-match performance as he led Coolock Village to MMI Cup success in Home Farm on Wednesday night.
A 2-0 win for the Village over a gallant VEC FC saw them pick up the trophy.

SHELBOURNE AFC added the Division 1 Shield to the League title they picked up recently when they narrowly edged out Boghall Rovers in the decider.

After going a goal down, and having a player sent off, Fairview Celtic showed their class when coming from behind to beat St John Bosco in the FAI Junior Cup.
James Hopkins leveled the game, while Sean Corbally powerfully headed home the winner.

Amber Celtic FC were formed in 2005 through tragic personal circumstances as a tribute to someone they lost a year earlier. They went on to win every league from Division 3A up to D1, but the Premier proved a hurdle too much though and the club folded after two seasons there.

Castle Celtic's Evan Burrows is on a mission to run 100Km in one day and all in aid of charity for Pieta House.
The run will take place on November 28th and he hopes to complete the marathon 100Km in 14 hours.
