This evening our #onecrew got together to celebrate the #RNLI200. We used this time to get together and talk about our time as crew and what the future will hold. Thank you to Jeera Tandoori North Shields for supplying the curry, it was delicious!

Beautiful day down here in North Shields. It's less than 2 weeks until our Lifeboat day! 7th July at the low lights car park. Hope the weather stays like this!

This morning we welcomed the @RNLI 200th scroll to South Shields in front of the replica lifeboat Tyne, at the town's memorial. We were met by @STyne_Council Mayor and Mayoress who flanked our crews as we signed it. Such a special experience!

On Monday evening while on training exercise, we were met by some Dolphins off the North Tyne pier! We as a crew have seen this a few times, but it's still amazing every time it happens 🐬

Last week two of our crew headed to Kensington Palace to be part of a Royal Garden party in celebration of the RNLI's 200th anniversary. Michael and his wife Emma along with Enzo and his partner Steph were treated to finger sandwiches on the lawn while also meeting Princess Ann!

On Saturday your local Lifeboat crew will be donning their yellow wellies and collection buckets to help raise funds to continue our life saving work in the local area. Our fundraisers will have a stall selling RNLI shop item's on Front Street so come down and say hi!

This Saturday at the @Old_LowLight Dorothy Brownlee hosts a heritage talk on the history around Clifford's Fort and the RNLI in the early 20th Century, including the introduction of motorised lifeboats at Tynemouth. More details can be found here:.

Congratulations to Howard Harrison, who has passed out as Helm of our inshore lifeboat this week!.Howard has been training hard for over a year to hone his skills on the D-Class. This included trips to the @RNLI college in Poole. Well done and good luck on your first shout!

Monday night training this evening with both our boats taking to the water. The All weather lifeboat working through the towing procedure and our ILB conducting man overboard drills off South Shields!

Today we welcomed Peter Keen and family down to the station this afternoon. Peters wife Jean, was a huge RNLI fan and left a donation on 2016 before she sadly passed away in 2022. Today we welcomed Peter and his family to our station to show them around our Severn class lifeboat

Congratulations to one of our Deputy Coxswains, Mark on taking up one of the full time Navigator positions at @HumberLifeboat. Mark, an artist in his spare time, will continue to volunteer at Tynemouth and provide Coxswain duties when he's back in the North East. Well done Mark!
