Just caught my first bot!🍯 This sign up attempt was discarded because the obscured honeypot field was filled on submission. May not catch em all but thankful I didn't have to send another confirmation email out into the nothingness.

@bchecketts Great post, Brandon! I just transferred 10 domains from GoDaddy and Bluehost to Cloudflare Registrar for at-cost ICANN prices, dropping costs by 60% (~$230/year). Tip: Even parked domains need a DMARC policy to prevent spoofing! Set it to reject all emails that fail SPF/DKIM.

Grok helped ease my frustrations around transferring my domain to a new registrar. The days-long process is more of a feature vs. a bug. Instead of being mad, now i’m thankful for the secure practices. But wow, its taking sooo long! ⏳😂

Thank you for all your advice! I found over 1,300 fake accounts were created in a few days and more were pouring in by the hour. 😳 I disabled new accounts until it’s safe again. I have a healthy list of anti-bot measures getting enabled and eager to get the rest in place! 🤖🚫

Soon after deploying my Rails 8 app with Devise, it got bombarded by bots causing the app to send 100 Welcome and PW reset emails to basically nobody! After adding the Confirmable module, what’s the best way to avoid sending tons of confirmation emails to fake addresses?

Rails 8 is excellent out of the box! Got @SlopeCSapp's home page to nearly perfect Lighthouse scores on mobile with two edits. The <lang> attribute and <meta description> seem to be the biggest/only missing pieces from the default layout in application.html.erb
