This was not meant to suggest TSJ and Minott were the same. Moreso a product of circumstance as in summer league and maybe preseason elevates expectations. Minott was “going to be a key rotation guy” a year ago! Simpler question: what will TSJ bring this season?

Will Shannon Jr have a breakout year or is this a Minott Mirage? I’d lean the former given he’s older than Mike Conley already. Useful guy at minimum

Can we sign one guy

Just had a McHale free agency deep in the north. I see Connelly did as well, though reasons are probably justified. Under zero illusions we will get Beal, but they do need to sneak a move or two in there yes?

Can we get like one useful new guy

Salute to NAW, who bailed us out of many a tizzy over the years, (and it’s going to be really funny watching Finch do a 7 man rotation next season).

Clarkson might be a good option? I expected “run it back” but didn’t quite expect down to the 7th string center two way guy “run it back.” Need a little shakeup, and can’t start the season with Conley again, which they will, but they probably can’t.

(Going to be amusing to see how many people take this seriously, if there will even be a response at this day and and time)

In addition to making a “cash considerations” trade, I’ll add “not trading Josh Minott at the deadline” to the reasons why they should obviously fire Connelly immediately.

So it’s the run it back path, and with a couple of the young guys filling in for NAW? A little lame but this always felt mostly likely to me. I suppose a lot can happen.
