@The_Highble @lovelltayem During WWI soldiers dug ditches along the battle lines to establish a place to shelter from enemy fire and artillery, live in, establish their battle line and observe what the enemy are doing It's why Australians call soldiers from WWI Diggers.

@clearfails @Crazymoments01 @InternetH0F When I was a kid my dad wanted me to stop doing something. His exact words were "You! Whatever your name is, and don't bullshit me because I named you so I'll remember what it is sooner or later. You're not doing that properly. Put it down or you'll hurt yourself"

@clearfails @Crazymoments01 @InternetH0F Deadset 100% for sure. When she told me the story my mum said that she was so shocked that dad was standing there flopping has arms around and couldn't remember her name that she forgot it too! 😃 It's such a great story and the fact mum was wearing a name tag makes it perfect

@clearfails @Crazymoments01 @InternetH0F Not long after they got married dad was introducing my mum to somebody. He said "This is my wife... Um (points) aaah, what's your name again?" Mum in shock said "I dunno. Hang on I'll remember" Dad's mate "is it Patricia? Only you're wearing a name tag and that's what it says"

@clearfails @Crazymoments01 @InternetH0F In Australia we just call each other mate as in "owyagoinmate?" We really only know the name of maybe 3 people. One is your own name, one is the name of the captain of the cricket team (Pat) and the other is the bloke who runs the pub (mate) as in "two beers please mate"

@chi32x55 @libertycorn0123 @NoLieWithBTC It'll be the Ides of February on 13/2/25. Every month has an Ides, it comes from a Latin word "Idus" meaning divide as in divide in half.

@PunkRockStory I saw the Stooges in 2006. I'd been wanting to see them ever since I could remember. They couldn't have been as good as I thought they'd be, could they? They were better, one of the best things I've seen. I'd seen Iggy solo a few times before but the Stooges were next level.

@fasc1nate This picture of iconic Australian batsman Victor Trumper is called Jumping Down and was taken by George Beldham in 1905. It hangs on many Australian walls and has had a book written about it (Stroke Of Genius by Gideon Haigh). The ball is about to be deposited into the crowd

@RodneyEcho @ThatEricAlper Yeah I love some distortion. And those two lyrics that align or harmonise with each other every now and again. It's a unique wonderful song.

@ThatEricAlper The Housemartins. Their album called London 0, Hull 4 is one of the best British LPs of all time

@job1046861 @TheExtremeMusi1 X were pretty good live too. I'll always remember that leer on Ian's face as he punched the lead break out to "I Don't Wanna Go Out" on his bass.
