The Chiefs playoff loses in the past 6 years fit a pattern: Other team generates insane pressure with 4 rushers. Mahomes gets the yips. He loses confidence and so do all his offensive teammates. Andy is caught flatfooted without a pivot. A shellshocked offense that freezes up.

I’ll probably worry when they haven’t gone to 5 Super Bowls in 6 years.
You guys act like it's a given the Chiefs will continue to be in this position year after year after year. It's not. The division is getting better. The conference is getting better. And Mahomes hasn't been himself for a while now. Tough road ahead.

I guess the way I see it is that the way the Chiefs played in 2020, they were basically dominant and there was no reason to think they would struggle. Tampa Bay dominated that game. This year, the margins were so close and there were some deficiencies, that I think we all kind of convinced ourselves that it was a foregone conclusion that the Chiefs would win. I was shocked in 2021…I’m not overly shocked tonight.

I mean, I get why it feels that way right now. But it also may be a bit of recency bias.
It’s an interesting question: is this Super Bowl loss worse than the Tampa Bay loss in 2021?
