Tucker is a one year old Miniature American Shepherd. He is curious, contemplative, mischievous, and playful. LOvEs belly rubs. Fluffiest butt in town.
He always watches the person gathering carts from the parking lot so intensely. Just occurred to me today that it must seem a lot like herding to him.😂
Last night, while on a walk in the neighborhood, our neighbor dog Taylor zoomed past us with 3 of his humans running after him. Tucker understood the assignment and engaged in play with Taylor but then sat very still so Taylor would, too. It worked! Taylor is home safe now.🐾
Tucker had his yearly shots & bloodwork yesterday. He was very brave but didn’t like the bandage on his leg. He forgave quickly & he’s happy & healthy. It’s been a year since a car accident landed him in rescue with a terrible head injury. You’d never know meeting him today.🐾
He played all day long at daycare. He’s already emptied his Kong wobbler and now he’s back to beg for a 4th enrichment toy. He’s like the energizer bunny. Time to turn on some soothing music and try to help him realize how tired he is.🐾
Things we’ve learned about Tucker so far:
1 - He loves everyone.
2 - He likes music. Preferably acoustic singer/songwriter.🥹
3 - He’s a highly skilled snuggler.
4 - He’s always ready for

Guys! You’ll never believe what happened. I jumped in the car and then my photographer said we could visit my cousins
@OzzyandWylie
! Get outta town… we never get to visit during the week! I was so excited I smacked her.🐾 🧵 (1/3)…
It’s exhausting meeting so many new friends! Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I just need a little rest and then we’ll get back to responding to everyone.💜
Tucker tried something new today at a local dog event - a mobile treadmill for dogs. It was hot outside, so it was nice to have a cool breeze and some exercise. He wasn’t so sure at first… (a 🧵 1 of 4)…
He was being so patient waiting for dinner. But after a morning at the groomer, and all the patience he could stand,he just needed to vent. 🔈 Volume up!🐾
Yesterday, a lady at his daycare said, “Tucker cracks me up. He plays SO hard all day long. And when it’s time to take all the dogs inside, he just lays down”. She said she sits quietly outside with him after all the other dogs go in.❤️ That’s why he smiles in his sleep.🐾
We stopped at a drive-thru and the cashier called her coworkers over to the window to see Tucker. She said, “he looks like a little man just sitting there with his napkin tucked in his collar… waiting for his dinner”.🤣🐾
Tucker always wants to be helpful in the kitchen. He sits at my feet looking up at whatever I’m doing, full of hope. I know he is partly waiting for me to drop something. But he also takes his “jobs” very seriously. I wish I knew what he thinks his job is with the broccoli.😂🥦
Stretching is his subtle way of saying it’s time for bed. One of these days, I’ll capture the way he sprints down the hall and basically throws himself into his crate every night. He seriously LOvES bedtime.🐾
He put himself to bed at 8:30 last night. Woke up wanting to snuggle. It was almost 9am before he was ready to go outside, and then he had to sit on patrol for a long time before he was ready to walk. Snoopervising can really wear a guy out.🐾
POV: When you take your dog out for some much needed exercise and he refuses to move when he spots a Labrador playing fetch with it’s owner. He will only sit and watch. But he’s so cute when he looks up at you for snacks, you can’t be mad.🐾
Aww shucks, everyone. Thanks for all the kind comments about my haircut. My floof will grow back soon and in the meantime, the ladies at daycare think I look like a Teddy Bear and they said I was a real Casanova today, trying to kiss all the lady pups.🐾
Our favorite local pet store had a sale yesterday and Tucker picked this enormous horn out of the bin by the register. And now it will probably be in every picture because he loves it. And he loves you, too.🐾

We went back to a local college campus tonight. The first time, Tucker was fearful of the hustle and bustle. This time, he was mostly unphased. Runners, busses, and bicyclists passed us as we walked and he just bopped along. He is gaining confidence!🐾
This old soul had quite a week. Yesterday, a specialist gave the all clear to play with other dogs again, but he needed a cone if not under constant supervision vision for just a couple of days. He’s doing great now and choosing to sit and ponder the sounds of the neighborhood.🐾
Tonight, it was cool and breezy for our evening walk around the neighborhood. Seemed like everyone was out walking their dogs or pushing strollers. So, you know who did more snoopervising than actual walking.🐾
Sigh… my savings goal increases. Now, in addition to buying him a ranch, some sheep, and rolling hills that he can sit and snoopervise, I’ll need to be sure it has a babbling brook.🐾🥹 (1/2)
We were worried that after living with multiple dogs and cats at his foster’s place, Tucker may have a hard time adjusting to solo dog life. Looks like he knows just what to do.💜🐾
It’s a beautiful, cool and breezy morning. We took a walk by the river and found a spot where Tucker could snoopervise and take a water break. We are so glad for cooler weather!🐾
We thought a bed with bolsters might be good because Tucker keeps rolling off the other ones. First, he tried to carry it up into the couch. And then this…🤣
He sits to watch garage doors go up. He watches sweetly as neighbors pull trash cans to the curb. I don’t want to I discourage his observant nature. But for the one holding the leash it can be awkward. Today, someone had furniture delivered and he would have watched them all day.
This guy is quiet as a mouse in his crate at night. In the morning, he always has an impressive case of bed head. And he takes a good 20 minutes of stretching and snuggles to fully wake up. Alarms are set accordingly. 🥰
Last night, Tucker graduated from Pet Manners I. So glad we captured the accomplishment because this morning, he demonstrated why we signed up for Pet Manners II.😂🐾
We parked by the baseball fields at a local University. After our walk, Tucker was fascinated by two teams warming up. Maybe we’ll take him to a game sometime. ⚾️🐾
This boy gets snuggle time on the big bed after he comes out of his crate in the morning. I’m pretty sure he’s learned the art of fake sleeping so he can extend his wake up routine.🐾
He was napping in his crate. But he doesn’t like to get up without a belly rub. I don’t know how long he was just sitting there, waiting while I was working. Sometimes he wakes up from a dead sleep and lifts that little leg for a belly rub. Who could say no? 🥹🐾
There was just enough snow for Tucker to sniff on our morning walk. And he learned about slippery ice 🥶. But mostly he was thrilled to find this frozen sock.🤣 He was so proud to carry it all the way home.🐾
Fun facts about Tucker:
- He cries quietly in the car until “his music” is playing
- He is skeptical of new people - unless they have a dog with them. Then he accepts the person immediately.
- If anyone sneezes in the house, he will wake from a deep snooze to comfort them.🐾🐾
Pals, I got a haircut. My photographer has been quite upset about it, as she only wanted my usual fanny trim and some light shaping around my face and mane. I don’t seem to mind. Just a little less floof, that’s all.🐾
This boy and his bed preferences 🤣. He was behind me during a zoom session. I turned around and he had flipped his bed upside down. He seems pretty happy that way.🤷♀️
Tucker’s post walk neighborhood patrol shift was almost over, when two HVAC trucks pulled up directly across the street from us. We may be here all day, folks. So much snoopervising to be done.🐾
Tucker’s first obedience class went great. He was a hot mess at first. Whining and yipping because he wasn’t allowed to play with his cousins,
@OzzyandWylie
🐾 But he was an expert at greeting all the doggos and sitting nicely for treats. Today, we see his new vet.🐾
On our walk this morning, a spaniel was off running all around in the distance. Tucker would have sat and watched him all day if I let him. He does the same thing on walks anytime a neighbor walks out their door. He doesn’t want to meet them. He just sits sweetly and watches.🐾
