In response to the East and Gulf Coast strike, hundreds of stakeholders and organizations have urged the Biden-Harris Administration to intervene and utilize their authority to open the ports.
Read about what stakeholders are saying.
The American people can’t afford to wait. President Biden and Vice President Harris must act now to stop this port strike from further damaging our economy, costing American businesses billions, and threatening American jobs.
The Biden-Harris Administration has failed to prevent a strike at East & Gulf Coast ports. Ongoing inaction will only worsen the economic damage to our Nation.
T&I Chairman
@RepSamGraves
&
@RepWebster
sent a letter to the Admin. urging them to act.
The Biden-Harris Admin's inaction on the port strike is hurting our economy and further burdening the American people.
@TransportGOP
Chairman
@RepSamGraves
and I are urging the White House to use its authority to end the strike and keep commerce flowing.
The Biden administration has once again failed to protect the American economy and consumers. I proudly sent this letter to urge the Administration to act quickly on this issue. The longer it continues, the more Arkansans will see everyday costs rise as we approach the holiday
A strike at U.S. East and Gulf Coast ports could cost the economy $5 billion a day.
Last week, T&I Chairman
@RepSamGraves
,
@RepWebster
, and 67 House Republicans sent a letter to the Biden-Harris Administration urging them to act and act quickly.
At midnight, a strike at our East & Gulf Coast ports will begin costing the economy $5 billion a day. A week-long strike would create a backlog at our ports until November. The Biden-Harris Administration has failed to act to protect our economy and American consumers.
Despite the calls from my
@TransportGOP
colleagues and I, the Biden-Harris Admin has failed to act in preventing a strike at East and Gulf Coast ports. This is inexcusable. Even a brief strike will impact the flow of goods and harm our nation's economy.
The Administration cannot continue to sit idly by with a strike at U.S. East and Gulf Coast ports set to begin at midnight tonight. Just a 1-week strike could take until mid-November to recover. Economic impacts of a 2-week strike could last into 2025.
