48 hrs until the Big Dance and a familiar face is our highlight today. Senior Will Bradbury is the only WHS Indoor Athlete that has qualified for 3 separate events! Today we focus on the 3200m where Will is ranked NC #15 and NC 4A #9. Only :23 sec separate #1-#9 in the 2 Mile!!

Junior Lily Stough is no stranger to the Championship stage. Qualifying for her second consecutive State Indoor meet, she is back in familiar surroundings. Lily comes in as NC #14, NC 4A #8 and #4 among Juniors. Her resume is as impressive as anyone in the field!

Senior Clayo Kulczyk is competing in his second consecutive State Indoor Meet and is currently coming in at NC #17 and NC 4A #9. As one of the most experienced jumpers in the field, expect that to be a difference maker in the Championship!

Fun Fact: Annabelle and teammate Cali Townsend are the NC #4 Best Duo in the 3200m. This is teammates who have collectively the lowest times.

As the countdown continues, we highlight this quartet of men. The Boys 4x800m (aka 3200m Relay) is the only WHS relay to qualify for states. They are NC 4A #17, but are the personification of a team that is peaking. We certainly have not seen their best. Saturday should be 🔥!

With one week to go, Senior Sadie Buchanan is ready! She enters the State Meet as NC #8 and NC 4A #4. In a race that is determined by a blink of an eye (tenths of seconds), don’t be surprised to see Sadie with a podium finish!! We won’t!

In 8 days, out featured student-athlete Will Bradbury will compete in the 1600m (Mile). Do not be fooled by the ranking (NC #21, 4A #13), He will need to be reckoned with as Will has the tools to vie for a State Title!

We begin our countdown to the NCHSAA 4A Indoor State Meet on 2/15/25. We will highlight daily one of our state qualified student-athletes! Today’s featured Athlete is Freahman Cali Townsend. She is currently ranked as NC #11 overall and NC #3 Freshman in the 3200m (2 Mile).

Congrats to the Boys 4x800 team (Zeke W., Evan M., Will B & Sam R.)for punching their ticket to the State Meet!! They beat out the qualifying time by 2sec in route to a 2nd Place finish at the Mondo Elite HS Invitational. We cookin’ now!

Today we honor the anniversary of Coach Michael Neffs passing. He was many things to many people. Husband, brother, son, friend, teacher, mentor, and our favorite…COACH! His impact can still be felt regularly. We carry his memory with us today as we compete! Thanks Coach! RIP
