My brother, only call upon Allah for all your needs. Never call upon the dead, or jinn, or angels or any other being. This is the path of Islam. As for everything else being discussed here, the issue is takfir. Some religious scholars have claimed that calling upon other beings is permissible under specific circumstances and with specific conditions. I strongly reject this view based on the evidence. But I disagree with Wahhabis about takfiring and killing them. My brother, the problem with Wahhabis is not that they encourage people to call on Allah alone. The problem is their methods of indiscriminately takfiring and killing their fellow Muslims. From the very beginning of Islam, some Muslims fell into the error of calling upon other than Allah, but there are no reports of the Salaf takfiring and killing them. In these matters we must follow the Salaf, not the eighteenth century innovations of the Wahhabis.
