20 years ago today one of the widest tornadoes on record for the UK hit Selsey, West Sussex causing much damage. The tornado was rated T3 with a track length of 3km and a maximum width of 900m.

An intense tornado made landfall at St Clement and traversed the island at around midnight on Thursday 2nd November 2023. Severe damage was found along the length of the track. The tornado exited Jersey around Fliquet.
