In honour of #BlackHistoryMonth, we’re excited to spotlight Katanya Martin, a talented professional engineer on our Distributed Energy Resources Connections team. She facilitates solar and energy storage project connections, contributing to our net-zero goals and the hardening of our electrical grid. Katanya moved to Canada from Antigua to pursue electrical engineering and joined Toronto Hydro in 2017. Her passion for her career has been key to her success and she encourages young Black professionals to explore the utility industry — one that she considers enriching and that has great impact on society. For Katanya, Black History Month is a time to honour the legacy and achievements of Black individuals, which inspire her daily. #EmployeeSpotlight #Engineering #BHM2025

We’re proud to share that we surpassed our annual fleet electrification goal for 2024, with 29% of our vehicles now being electric or plug-in hybrid/hybrid, highlighting our dedication to sustainable transportation initiatives. 🔌 As part of this effort, we successfully decommissioned 31 gas-powered vehicles and replaced another 26 with hybrid or electric alternatives. We also introduced our brand new electric bucket truck last year — you might have even seen it at the Toronto Santa Claus Parade! We’re excited to continue progress on our commitment to sustainability and to reducing emissions within our operations! #ElectricFleet #Fleet #ElectricVehicle

@blue124567 Hi there. Thanks for your question and our apologies for any confusion. Our outage map counts customers by meters, and some condos or other buildings are fed by a single bulk meter, which means that an outage may impact more residents than indicated on the map. Hope this helps.

Yesterday, our President and CEO, Jana Mosley, shared valuable insights at the @TorontoRBOT's Climate & Energy Economy Symposium about Toronto Hydro’s role in supporting and enabling the @cityoftoronto's net-zero vision by focusing on three key areas — investing in a grid that can support the energy transition, embracing modernization and innovation, and working directly with residents and businesses to enable and scale climate action. During her speech, Jana highlighted that balancing rapid growth with the need for ambitious climate action requires a strategic approach and alignment between stakeholders at every level, from government to the private sector. At Toronto Hydro, we remain committed to our customers, the City of Toronto and the community we serve, and are dedicated to doing our part to help address the climate emergency and to meet not only the demands of today, but pave the way for a prosperous, sustainable future for all Torontonians. #NetZero #Sustainability #ClimateAction

Our Field Operations crews tackle challenging and high-risk work on a daily basis — from heights and high voltage to traffic zones and confined spaces. Safety is their top priority, and we’re proud to share that they recently achieved 500+ days without a recordable injury associated with work in the field (May 2023 –Sept. 2024)! Congratulations to our crews on this milestone and thank you for your unwavering commitment to safety and keeping Toronto powered! 💪#SafetyFirst #DedicatedToSafety #EmployeeWellbeing
