Today I got to call a little girl and tell her she’s officially adopted. After years of trauma and waiting, she’s so excited to have a new last name. She is getting all As for the first time ever. 🥺. Kids really deserve so much better than Missouri’s adoption laws.

I’m a Pell Grant recipient and worked up to 4 jobs at a time throughout school. For the first few years I didn’t have a car and was working campus jobs for ~$7.65/hr. I went to a public school for undergrad & law school on merit and need-based scholarships. I still have debt.
Here’s a novel way to avoid that college “debt trap” - get a job while going to school.

Three years ago I was working on law school applications. In a couple months I’ll graduate. My small piece of advice: Law school is difficult so find your people. I am blessed to have truly remarkable peers. There’s so much hope for the world in this generation of lawyers.

Absolutely heartbroken. The RSVP Center staff is the reason I continued at Mizzou throughout my junior and senior year, and was able to continue as a law student. Mizzou staff make Mizzou. The impact of the centers cannot be overstated enough - the staff make those spaces.

The Health Law Society and @MULawSBA introduced a wellness/maternity room into Mizzou Law. Law students volunteered their limited free time to create this cozy space. A room certainly isn’t the end of advocacy, but these Pinterest-y vibes deserve to be shared!

As of today Missouri’s gender-affirming care ban is in effect w exception for the continuation of care. Despite the guidance of major medical and mental health associations, the flagship university denies evidence-based care and succumbs to political pressure. Do better, MU.
Youth already receiving gender-affirming care at MU Health Care will no longer be able to receive puberty blockers or hormones, despite the new law that allows them to continue the care.

I worked too Tori (while accumulating student debit in college.) I paid it back on time despite starting salary after graduation of minimum wage-I paid rent & had car payment.

I went to my last home game as a student today!. My senior year of HS I was debating between Mizzou and another state school, and both had bowl games on the same day. Naturally, I told my dad, “Whoever wins, that’s where I’m going.” . In 2014 Mizzou won their bowl game.
