MHA for Stephenville - Port au Port, @PCPartyNL Leader, running to be the next Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Newfoundland and Labrador
Joined December 2017
Had a fantastic time at the Valentine’s Seniors Social at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 50 in Conception Bay South! Great to catch up with MHAs @BarryPetten, @HelenConwayNL, and @DinnPaul, and even better to chat with so many wonderful seniors. We reaffirmed our commitment to improving access to health care and putting more money in seniors’ pockets to make life more affordable—because when we support our seniors, we make life better for all of us.

The Furey Liberals’ failure to properly plan for quality healthcare on the West Coast has negatively impacted seniors for far too long. Our seniors have been left in hallways, occupying beds in the Emergency Room, and were even asked to share bedrooms. For months, I have been calling for the use of the former Western Memorial Hospital to address this problem. Why did it take so long for the Furey Liberals to finally take this advice? The seniors of Newfoundland and Labrador deserve better. #nlpoli

It is appalling that seniors and other vulnerable cancer patients must travel across the island, often in poor weather, to receive radiation treatment when a brand-new cancer centre sits empty. Cancer patients deserve better.
After 10 years of promises, the new Corner Brook hospital is still no closer to offering radiation therapy. It’s totally unacceptable that cancer patients—especially seniors and vulnerable individuals—must travel across the island for treatment while a brand-new cancer center sits empty. Even worse, the Furey Liberals have abandoned any clear timeline to open it. Cancer patients deserve better. What do you think? #nlpoli

The days and weeks ahead will be anxious for many, but Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are strong and resilient. Let’s stick together and support each other. It’s important to put our industries, workers, families and communities ahead of politics. We’ve faced tough times before. Together, we’ll get through this stronger than ever.

Crab season is just weeks away. The proposed U.S. tariff on Canadian seafood is a serious threat, and with President Trump’s unpredictable actions, we can’t afford to wait and see what happens. Thousands of jobs and our economy are at risk. We must have a plan to protect Newfoundland and Labrador’s industries. Photo ops won’t help our harvesters or processors.
