I use the "Stop, Drop and Breathe" method.
1. I stop whatever it is I'm doing completely
2. I "drop" into a comfortable place in a chair or on the floor
3. I take time to "breathe". Usually a meditation or yoga-type breath. In through the nose, out through the mouth
