That's not how it works. There are two separate votes on the ballot. The first question is yes or no on recalling Gavin. The second vote chooses his successor in case the first question passes. Newsom is not on the ballot for the second vote. If he loses the first vote he's gone.

When I was at Michigan I studied Aerospace Engineering. Almost all of my professors gave me "extremely time-intensive problem sets" every week. I was left with little time for outside activities. The only upside to this is that upon graduation I got a job designing spacecraft.

I was menaced by a drug demon at 24th/Mission BART last week. I'm over 6ft, male, not scrawny, not super old. For me it was a distraction and an unpleasantness. Numerous people at church (older, female, feeble) have changed their whole pattern of living here to avoid this.

The Covid response has been perfectly arbitrary with respect to medical science from day one. No one in government has been required to explain the logic behind any of their takings of Americans' liberty and property. Orders were given and people simply were required to obey.
And many push back on me with apocalyptical scenarios where vax mandates would be needed. Look, if we had a Govt being transparent and allowing inquiry (or any form of logical scrutiny!), perhaps I'd agree.

I've been here somewhat longer than you have. I love all the things you mention. (Especially the weather! Best in North America!) The only exception I have is your idea that we can turn things around. Maybe someday but not in the next 10-20 years. Continued decline is baked in.
