@jkg1921 Current trend is between sunrise and mid-morning Sat. The track will matter since it looks like it will deliver potential for another wintry mix. Snow totals Sat shouldn't be that big as a result of mixing, Sun should bring more snow.

@ggould2112 You were not alone as I felt lucky to find a couple small bags left at NAPA last week after being denied at a couple other places.

@ggould2112 Plain old rock salt like the DOT generally uses is only really effective down to around 20°F. Below that it can still melt ice, though it takes a lot more to do so. If what you bought was a mix of ice melters like calcium or magnesium chloride it should work fine in these temps.

@MJL757 Possibly, though I was thinking that it might have posed a bigger hazard from wave action and chunks of up to 30" thick ice bouncing around. It may help the next ship on its way in from Long Point in the next couple days once the wind fades.

@KidFrimBklyn19 If it were completely ice capped, sure. Last time that happened was 2015. Currently much of the ice cover is not a solid sheet, but we're on our way with 85% as of today.
