Yep, someone is sitting in the dark because their smart lights don't work when the internet is down. Who would have imagined?
I haven't been able to turn on my smart lights since about 5.30pm. Smart lights, man - Smart, but also very dumb when the internet goes down and they can't connect to their central server. Maybe there is something to the local hub model...

The AI Action Summit's final statement has been leaked. Unsurprisingly it ignores existential risks as many remain skeptical. But disappointingly it also fails to tackle present-day harms, such as AI’s impact on the climate or labour force.
NEW: I got hold of the statement that countries are set to sign at the Paris Al Action Summit next week. Experts have slammed it as a "wasted opportunity", entirely devoid of substance and failing to follow through on commitments made at previous summits.
