@elsakendrick1 @Sherbert061 @DrSusanOliver1 Good point. This is my concern if the CoA overturn the verdict without ordering a retrial. A better outcome would be for the CoA to order a retrial but the CPS to throw the towel in. A retrial would prove her innocence more effectively but neither Letby nor the parents need that.

@Abster_1983 @DrSusanOliver1 There’s a section on his Wikipedia page on his civil liberties campaigning, including sharing platforms with Tony Benn. He worked with Jeremy Corbyn to oppose the extradition of Gary McKinnon and was outspoken on the treatment of Julian Assange.

@Abster_1983 @DrSusanOliver1 Anything of evidential value disclosed in court is now in the public domain, and anything the CPS had that was not disclosed is not of evidential value. Evidence has been disclosed as a result of Thirlwell that wasn’t made available to the court.

@likeabilitytoo @Marymungom87371 If you mean that there are absolutely no circumstances in which he will abide by his duty to the court to admit under cross-examination the potential validity of any other explanation, then yes.

@ContrarianJolly There’s some truth in that. But there’s also some truth in z(at least some of) them being malicious, spiteful, stupid and/or acting in bad faith. It’s hard to resist the temptation to call them out.

@ContrarianJolly @gill1109 I would say that Evans has now passed the notability test, or at least the notoriety one.

@LucyLetbyTrials Only skimmed it but spotted an apparent attempt to mislead, a lie and a failure to comprehend what the panel actually said. More importantly there’s a failure to understand that questions aren’t evidence. But I am sure those using her as a mouthpiece are happy with her efforts.

@DrDaniS Evans reviewer in Letby was going to be the late Martin Ward Platt, who supported Evans’ mentor Roy Meadows in the Angela Cannings and Donna Anthony cases. He was replaced with Sandie Bohin, who faces allegations of weaponising the safeguarding system against concerned parents.

@Sherbert061 @DrSusanOliver1 The case needs to be referred back to the CoA by the CRCC. The CCRC are not fit for purpose, as they demonstrated in the case of Andrew Malkinson. Mobilising public opinion to get cases reopened is unfortunately a necessary tactic.

@Abster_1983 @DrSusanOliver1 No fan of DD’s politics, but he has an excellent track record on miscarriage of justice and civil liberties.
