I genuinely feel this Wolves team, like the 22-23 team, is better than their record. Their underlying net rating has soared in the new year, and I feel like we’ve yet to see them play their best basketball. If they can get the right first round matchup, they are absolutely capable of making a run. Especially if your matchup is a combination of Houston and Memphis. Those are two winnable series that could find us right back in the WCF. I think the key is getting that 6 seed to ensure OKC stays on the other side of the bracket.

I’ve got an odd feeling that the Wolves are going to pull out a victory tonight and reset the sour vibes.

@hallzi43 Yeah late game execution has been really bad. To the point I actually liked Finch just letting him play and not allowing the defense to talk about it and start set. But it’s so incredibly bad that I thought that was a good thing.

Rob Dillingham is going to be fine. He’s moving a bit fast at the moment and I think he’s trying to do too much. These are the reps we need him to get. He’s got some work to do in the offseason.

@hallzi43 It’s just crazy to me how little he’s hit those end of game shots.

Jaylen Clark and TSJ are in an all out battle for who’s the 9th man in a healthy roster. The nice part is I think you can interchange them. Need a spark? Go with TSJ who has more offensive pop. Need a reliable wing? Jaylen Clark is so strong fundamentally and does things the right way.

Yeah I heard Jim Pete on the broadcast mention Ant and Finch communicated going for the 2 for 1 as Ant came down the floor. It was a good look he can hit, and it was what Finch wanted. I don’t mind the thought process of giving yourself two possessions. It’s okay to be mad about the outcome but the process was fine.

@CoachBGonzo I think an offseason will do wonders. I also think he needs more playing time than we can give him.

Timberwolves Rookie Terrence Shannon Jr had a career night vs Milwaukee 11 PTS 4/7 FG 5 REB 6 AST 2 STK Providing energy in transition, making good passing reads, and bringing intensity and attentiveness defensively.

@CoachRyanKish I’ve long wondering about what if it all just translates. His Illinois reel is out of this world.

@CoachJMosleySr I'm open to it, but I have reservations about doing it for a 37-year-old. TSJ might make it easier, though... damn!

This team has played flat-out soft defensively tonight and against the Cavaliers, allowing the opponent to settle into the game. With them going cold from the floor, you'd like to see them gain momentum through stops.
