When recreating anime characters in 3d you have to pay close attention to how the face changes when viewed from other angles. I see a lot of new artists go about this wrong, and I'll show how I handle making all angles look good. Continues as a thread below as I make this model.
You'd be right to think this guy would be easy to 3d model. But then you would also go into a convulsion when I tell you just how high of a poly count he'd have.
Alrighty I'm bored of it. You can get all the project files for my Princess Charm model for free. Be sure to check it out on my sketchfab aswell.

This is your friendly reminder that I have one more slot available for my 100 percent from scratch model commissions. I also assist with getting said model into stuff like vrchat.
Been studying the way Chiharu's eye works in the animation. It's actually not a round sphere. I believe its a big plane that hides inside the face like this with the iris being the only part that moves.

A Fuzzy Octoling Shader, since I've seen renders without it *gasp, how dare yee*. The hair cards are occluded with a freznel so they are only visible around the silhouette, similar to how its done in game.
You ever just use google images to search up how to do a specific 3d thing. And then like more than half of them are tutorials from people who don't have a clue what they're doing?
