Fraymakers sprites might be too large to sustain development? Higher resolution sprites can take exponentially more time to create.
Anyway here's the current state of the Duelists of Eden character select screen.

Do you think a fighting game with less readable sprites would work though?
I was a little caught off guard just how large the sprites are in FM. But, thinking about all that Sakurai talks about regarding readability - I think it would be tough especially in a platform fighter.

RoA did a good job I think, it's a whole different aesthetic of course. But you're right, it's a big reason why fighting games moved to 3d models

The sprites look incredible! My issue looking at this is that there's nobody to play for weirdo character enjoyers. There's nobody here that's like a weird creature or anything, they're all similarly-sized humanoids. Just a personal thing but if it had an oddball I'd 100% buy.

Been a while since I've played One Step From Eden and there are some characters here that I don't recognise (like Chiretta). Are they OCs for this game or new characters added to the original?

if you're looking for feedback, maybe add a gradient behind current ui objects, so that the background doesnt feel like it's cluttering the foreground
