Casting fun fact for voice actors;. I was casting for a project and the character was supposed to be cold and menacing. One VA did the complete opposite. It was so good that I had to come up with something. I created a character based on his performance, for him. Boom! Casted.

i don’t think a lot of voice actors feel that way to be honest. ACTUALLY;.many of them WANT to voice something crazy and weird, downright unhinged and f*ed up. at least from my experience as a horror writer and producer.
Talking to VAs I notice a bit of a disturbing trend, VAs who don't want to play characters who do very bad things. Is this something others have noticed? Any VAs wanna comment on this? Have you turned down a role because your character is pure evil? (cont).

A voice actor approached me for a demo reel. I asked for samples of their voice (audition, work, any).They replied they never done anything voice acting related yet. I refused to produce the demo and encouraged training. And I received SO MUCH SHIT for it. They'll thank me later.

Voice Actors: make sure the gain/volume on your audition is at an adequate volume when sending it to casting! . Too often I get an audition where, even at full volume, I can't hear what you're saying. It's a shame. Just a quick little reminder from a casting director🤘.
