Did you know that the effect size of ibuprofen and similar anti-inflammatory pain killers is just r = .11? Consider it a friendly reminder that 1) small effects can be meaningful at scale and 2) we tend to have wildly inaccurate hunches about effect sizes.

@coles_nicholas_ @WordWeaver_ @aa_marsh I’m a bit late to this, but I agree the effects are small. However, I believe their potential clinical use warrants further exploration. I discuss some amplifying and counteracting mechanisms in my thesis, which the original paper is a part of.
