I reckon the draw from word go, really hurt the Pies this year. Hurt the Lions as well, but they didn't have the injuries and now are starting to roll.
The way the Hawthorn commentators and other Hawthorn sooks, are carrying on about Hinkley, Hawthorn will become the new Carlton. And we know what we think of Carlton!
I reckon Sidebottom has been playing well for a couple of months. The job he did on Gulden was outstanding.
I am not sure what players Pies can retire, but a lot of the over 30 players are going better than a lot of the younger ones. Tough decisions are coming
I reckon the Pies should chase Bailey Smith and Naughton. It gets us a genuine forward and a mid fielder winger with run and pace. Plus it stops Geelong getting him.
McCrae comments about anybody know of any key forwards who want to play for Collingwood, lets us know? It is a very smart thing to say. The last few weeks, he is learning how to use the media better
Apparently Bulldogs are going to have a salary cap squeeze. The Pies are more than happy to help them. We can take Naughton and Bailey Smith off the Bulldogs hands, we are happy to help the Bulldogs.
Can't Collingwood just deal with Goldcoast with Noble and pick 13? Pies then just chase another player. They can deal with Richards to Port, Pies can then make them earn him.
Maynard is ridiculously persecuted. Has there been a player copped so much? Caroline Wilson started again on him on footy classifieds. I hope Maynard realise there is many on his side. Side by side!!!!!
Somebody on SEN said take it to the bank, Kennedy is going to the Pies. After all the players linked to Collingwood and then decided to stay at their club or the Pies are definitely not going to get, We are down to about 300 players coming to the Pies.
If the Pies don't get Houston, I reckon the Pies should go after Bailey Smith. Geelong will want to low ball the Bulldogs, however if the Pies are in the picture, it would force Geelong to come up a with decent picks. Bailey have a change of heart. Pies have Daicos, Cats don't
Petracca suffers broken ribs, lacerated spleen, punctured lung. How did they put him back on the ground! Could you imagine him getting tackled hard?
There could of been very serious consquences. Irresponsible for putting him back on the ground.
If the Pies chased Petracca, it could of set the Pies back a long way. Cost the Pies too much. 29yrs old next year and he isn't going to get any better or faster. It woud also restrict the Pies trading even more.
Hmmmm I am upsetting a few Carlton Supporters with some posts. Interestingly, other supporters are happy with the posts. You can tell I am deeply upset about it.😃😄😁 Is Carlton taken over the mantle as the most hated AFL supporters?
For the Pies to improve a lot next year, they will need a good quick onballer, a good defender and a key tall forward. Other clubs will improve so the Pies will need to.
"He wanted to play on, Christian Petracca, but there were Collingwood players in the second quarter that remarked to Petracca that he should go off, that's how unwell he looked," Morris added. Really glad the Pies players didn't tackle him. The headlines would be been different
Pies are not going to have Pendles, Sidey, Howe, Elliott, Crisp {the class} Checkers, WHE, Cox and others next year or the year after. How can they replace some of these? Just as well we won a premiership. Pies will need to trade unbelievably great to be in the hunt again
Pies could offer Noble and a future 1st pick for pick 13, with Goldcoast sending back a pick to the Pies. Then Pies could on trade pick 13 for Sydneys pick 19 & 21. Just do what Port was going to do. Now the Pies control the narrative. We got Richards as well.
I think the Pies have given AJ enough chances. I thought they were going to bring in Kreuger. In the VFL He kicked 3 goals [out of the teams 8 goals] with 8 marks and 8 hit outs. At least Kreuger makes a contest.
Just a thought for the many. When you draft a mature age player, e.g. Shultz, Bobby, McStay, Berry etc you know they can play at AFL standard. With young draftees it is a raffle, you don't know if they can.
Losing McCreery and Noble, takes a lot of pace and pressure out of the team. WE want Degoey to repeat last weeks effort which will take some heat of Naicos
Nick Daicos ranks No.1 in the AFL for gathers from hit-outs, centre bounce clearances, centre bounce first possessions and contested possessions. He is second in the competition for first possessions, clearances and loose ball gets. Where are those bagging him. Simply the best!
The Pies need a excellent development coach for the VFL. Not just a a coach that can help them win. With players like Allan, McCrae, Reef, TJ, Demattia, Smit, Ryan, krueger, Steene, Eyre, Jacob and Parker, help them to be the best they can.
Pies give noble and future 3rd round to goldcoast for pick 13. Pick 13 and future 2nd pick and Richards for Houston and Ollie. Pies can do something like this with a few trade swaps. The Pies are not going to pick any high end young drafts. They need to develope what they have.
Pies are going to need an awful lot of things to go right to beat Carlton. The good part about the Blues they are not that quick. Mckay is in rare form, playing really well.
Pies will need to win the centre clearances and get off to a fast start or the game will be over fast
Denver Grainger-Barras might be worth a look for the Pies.Tall back and was pick 6. Can play forward. He kicked 4 goals in a game in the VFL Maybe can develop at the Pies. I mention awhile ago hawthorn is going to have to many defenders with battle and Barass going to the Hawks.
Pies are in a good position for trades. Goldcoast, Pies and Port will be trying to work out something that is best for all concerned. Hopefully they do it fast
Shultz or Richards. I Think Shultz hasn't settled at the Pies yet. He is stronger and brings the pressure, one of the reasons they got him. He needs some goals. Joe settled in straight away, and really clean hands, knows where to go. fitness? Both will play, for now.
I reckon Sidebottom deserves another contract. Still can run a lot. His skills have been good the last couple of months. He does do a lot of things that don't count as stats. Was good in the centre when he goes there and now can tag a bit, yet still finds the ball himself.
Has Carlton reached it's peak? Was 2024 going to be their best chance to win the illusive Premiership? Will this generation of Carlton supporters ever live long enough to see another premiership?
Pies met Kennedys management 2 weeks ago what I understand. Also, {which I couldn't find again}, he has had medical check at the Pies. He has had knee soreness a couple of times. He isn't quick, but as a player he does put in.Pies could sign him for free, or for some chips 2 yrs
Did anyone hear what Gawn said about Collingwood? He said he was hoping the Pies could make the Finals and then Melbourne could end it for them! I think he may hate Collingwood.
I will be happy stringer. Can help Nick in the centre and can swap with Degoey up forward. Just make sure he is fit and maybe put some conditions in his contract about performance
Sam Edmund says Collingwood offering Noble + future 1st to gets Suns' pick 13 & 23. Carlton offering a future 1st & future 2nd for Suns' pick 13. I maybe wrong, I would think Carlton's offer is a little better. Pies need to offer another small thing to get the deal done
With seeing some new players getting pick due to injuries, Will Collingwoods best team be different? I reckon Joe Richards could be in Collingwoods best team.
I think Pies can delist Sullivan. Doesn't really bring much. Not a big mark, got less and less of the ball. Seems to be totally lost at times. Not quick. Happy to see him go
Carlton have gotten really good at throwing things. During the game Carlton players throw the ball. Their supporters throw bottles at umpires. On Saturday Calton throw the game against Brisbane.
I don't think Daicos is going to win the brownlow. How has Cripps got so many votes in games where he went ok only. I think he is going to win it. Tom Green is going ok.
Fly wants players that walk straight into the team. Houston is that player who helps the defence sigmificantly. Only thing, he is only 186cm tall. top ball user, covers the ground well. Averages 23 possessions and good for supercoach😄
It is good the Pies have picked up a early draft in Perryman. We feel a little more excited Pies are doing something instead of possibilities all the time.
Amazing how interstate teams and Cats can whinge about travelling so much and yet get plenty of home games. Give Pies a genuine home ground like it was when they had Victoria Pk and see how many teams can win there. Carlton, Essendon, Stkilda, nth etc had genuine home grounds too
We should feel sorry for a lot of Carlton supporters. There would be so many supporters born that would not know what a premiership is. Also the older generation would have to have great memories. So this is how we can help them. We can send last years premiership replay to them
My goodness Carlton supporters are so easy to upset. They get very personal, abusive and vicious. I understand why that other clubs don't have them as supporters.
Pies finals start now. Teams do know if they tag Daicos enough, they are half way to winning. The umpires do let go a lot of holding on Daicos. With Pendles and Degoey in the last 2 weeks, yet we still lost. Pendles played well. Sidebottom is playing better every week
Tough selections coming up this week for the Pies. I really hope Degoey can get up this week. We need a backman for McKay. Another tall to help McStay.
Am I wrong, shouldn't Cameron have been taken of the ground for a proper assessment of concussion? Landing from that mark in the last 10 minutes of the game, he hit his head hard on the ground.
As Hinkley found out, flogging GWS last time, counted for nothing. Pies don't think the same. GWS has improved a lot. Still think Pies need another good center clearance player. Mason Should do well in the center bounce. Briggs has a sore shoulder
@masonsixtencox
@AFL
Mason Cox, You are a great ambassador for the game of AFL. You have a great personality to go with it. Also you play for the best team on the Planet. Go pies!!!!
The good part about the rumours for potential trades Pies are trying to get, are mainly 195cm talls. Genuine tall forwards. Also we forget that Cox may not be playing next year, so Pies will need to find another ruck.
Cox has not kicked a goal this year? Pies need a genuine big tall forward whom can take a contested mark, and get on the lead. Maybe they can try Frampton again, since he is in form and marking. Maybe throw Moore there for awhile. Hawks nearly won with a different forward
[JON RALPH apparently} Collingwood had asked for 13, 23 and 29 back from the Suns as they gave up a future first and John Noble. But if the Pies negotiate fairly they are a huge chance to get the pick 13 and second early pick to hand to the Power for Houston. {A starting point}
Mathew Lloyd some up how the Pies have been playing. Sitting off opposition players to far, hence they can pass the ball around and we get tired of chasing them around. Elliott sat a bit closer to a player, made the spoil then kicked a great goal on the run. Dumb coaching too
Would the Pies like to pick Bailey Smith? You think after an ACL injury, he may want a different scenery from the Bulldogs. He fits the profile for Collingwood, run, run, run
Pies asked about Bailey Humphrey from goldcoast. He is going to be a really good player, can't see the Pies getting close to getting him. Pies need to offer something better. I thought Port giving pick 13 to sydney for 19&21 was smart. Pies can do the same, if they get pick 13
If Bulldogs are smart in dealing with Cats for Bailey Smith, they need to make sure the deal is done within a few days before the end of the trade period. Remember what the Cats did with Pies for Ollie Henry, this all we got left for Ollie is pick 25. He was worth a lot more
How I remember Nathan Murphy. I wasn't sure he was going to make it at the Pies. In the end he was outstanding! A great courageous marking player. Probably one of the reasons Pies backline hasn't been going well at the start. WE all wish him the best for him in the future.
Pies need to get the Noble trade done. Pies need to sweeten the deal. One future 1st pick isn't enough for Pick 13. Plus I am not allow to say, [I said I wouldn't} Pies are looking at another deal, which is totally unrelated which will help with our draft.
