Respectfully, this is just ethereum criticism and a prior-cycle mental model. Certainly doesn’t apply to everything out there now. Currently disproved pretty emphatically by solana. It costs like a cent to make a transaction, SOL the asset is valuable, and the network is secured by more staking than ethereum. Client diversity imminent with firedancer.

I think lots of the eth voices, which are often conflated with “crypto” broadly, are burnt out and bearish. This includes more puritanical DeFi folks too, some of whom have rage quit. The solana folks are not bearish at all, and justifiably so. Sol is up 32x from the bottom, they just did 10% of Nasdaq volume on the day of the trump launch. Firedancer is imminent. Etc. They’re cooking. Lots of funds are stuck with big eth ecosystem bags, except for the few that smartly moved to solana. The return dispersion this cycle has been I think different than many expected. The best portfolio by far has been barbell Bitcoin and solana. Bitcoin as your savings, solana as your tech investment. Or even bitcoin and Sui. But holding eth has been a dead and debilitating trade for those stuck in it. If you missed both BTC and solana you really fucked up.

@DzambhalaHODL This is the most levelheaded, non-hysterical take I’ve seen from a bitcoiner on this. Every serious crypto project hates ripple. Not every crypto project is a scam. Everyone is just residually scarred by how excruciating ethereum has been (and still is).
