Please keep our brothers & sisters of Portsmouth @IAFFL539 in your thoughts as they have experienced two LODD deaths in the last week. Capt. Kelsey Pittman, 49, died unexpectedly on January 6. And Capt. Christopher Jones, 47, died from occupational cancer on January 8.

On this date, the VPFF was organized as a statewide affiliate of the @IAFFofficial. Since then, we have grown to over 10,000 firefighters, ems providers & communications officers in over 60 local affiliates. We may be 70 years old, but we're getting stronger each and every day.

We applaud @mikecherryforva for again fighting for the Commonwealth's FIRST first responders. They routinely deal with stressful situations and life-and-death decisions. They deserve to be classified as first responders!

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10am-12pm, and a Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30pm, at The Tabernacle in Danville, 1978 South Boston Road, Danville, Virginia 24540. May he rest in peace.
