With our last match in SEL being done, here’s my retirement from Collegiate RL: TLDR: I am no longer playing collegiate rl leagues. If the UTK roster of myself, Tybu, and Jobro play in an event, it will only be LAN tournaments. I will still be in the community and playing for fun with friends, but not seriously competing in anything. It’s been a wild ride to be a part of collegiate rl and I couldn’t have asked for a better semester to end it on. A win against Northwood, staying competitive on lans despite a last second roster change, and making playoffs in SEL out of groups with 2 separate teams. The semester has been full of ups and downs but I am happy to make it my last. Huge thanks to my teammates throughout the semesters, starting with Tybu, even though we’ve only been teammates for not even half a semester, my best results were with him on the team. Beating Northwood, making tier 1 in necc (even though we had to ff out of the league), and securing our spot in the top 30 CRL teams in the nation. I wouldn’t have been able to have this success without him. Next, @chip_bevil , one of the best people I’ve met. Chip (Hermes) was one of the first people I met at UTK and is still one of my good friends to this day. We had our deepest runs in CRL Qualifiers with this roster and some of the most fun matches we’ve ever played. @KungZB , even though it was on the “b team”, we still proved to be one of the strongest competitors in the SEL, even securing a playoff spot. It was a fun journey to start from scratch with a new team and see what we could do, and prove the depth that we had at our school. @JacobHoward_20 , my team captain in my first year at UTK, we won our first ever collegiate LAN, and placed second at another one a week later. Then, playing on the b team again this semester and proving we still had what it took. Thank you for showing the friendship and personality side of this space, as it led to some of the best friendships I have. Lastly, @jobroRL , one of my best friends and long time teammates ever since the start. We started as a team, won multiple LANs, leagues, had lots of upsets against top CRL teams along the way, and then ended it together on a strong note. One of the best people I’ve met in the RL community, and I couldn’t thank him more for being not only a good teammate but a good friend as well. Some other shoutouts I have to give to people are the friends of mine who I met through college rl who I will probably be friends with for a long time after as well. @DJTJRL @TheDylnn @MonkJR_ @KoopaTroopaRL are all some of my closest friends that I met through competing and this scene, they have all helped me keep motivation to compete until now, given me career opportunities and have made the southeast region feel like home. Another huge shoutout to @Freddymac48999 for giving me a chance with production within the SEL, helping me find a new home even if I’m not competing anymore. With all this said, I am not leaving the community, there’s a good chance you’ll see me competing at lans, or maybe the occasional weekly tournament or for fun league with some of the guys mentioned above. I won’t be quitting the game completely, just transitioning to only having fun with the game, rather than stressing out about competing in leagues and such (sorry @BepicCasts ). Also huge shoutout to @CrisppRl for quitting mid semester and letting me have my a team spot back, wouldn’t have the upset over Northwood to boast without it. Anyways thats it, see y’all at lan or in SEL chat
