@Faizalic1ous @ruthyvbz This is exactly it. They were stuck in lots of contracts outside of just the building costs. They have to pay also cleaning contracts and so many other operational costs that they are already paying for and need to justify usage.

@pastelETH @mamachell While generating money is the whole point of advertising, it also played a significant role of projecting a more progressive view of Black life during that time period and highlighted their economic importance. Historically, it does matter.
