Trump claims in a conversation with the New York Post that he spoke with Putin about ending the war in Ukraine, despite denials on the subject by the Kremlin over the weekend. On Iran, Trump said: "I want to make a non-nuclear deal with them, I prefer that to bombing their faces. They don't want to die, and nobody wants to die. If we make a deal with them, Israel will not attack them"
The Daily Mail claims to have obtained a leak of Trump's plan to end the war in Ukraine: • A ceasefire will be achieved by Easter on April 20 • Ukraine will not be able to join NATO • Ukraine will recognize Russian sovereignty over the territories it has occupied and will be forced to withdraw from the territory it controls in the Kursk region • A demilitarized zone will be declared between the countries. European forces, most likely British, will manage it without US military involvement • The European Union will invest $468 billion in the reconstruction of Ukraine over a decade Schedule: • Early February - phone call between Putin and Zelensky • Late February-early March - meeting between Putin and Zelensky • April 20 - de facto ceasefire • May 9 - all agreements will be revealed, military regimes and conscription will be abolished • The US will continue to transfer Ukraine to receive security assistance • Ukraine to maintain path to EU membership by 2030
