Army-Navy was the stand-alone last game prior to conference championship games. After those were introduced, they moved back to being the last game of the regular season when the tv contract for the game was renewed.
@TheMidReport Its not like it has been the last game for 100 years. It got moved to current spot like 14 years ago. Someone is gonna offer double or triple $$ to move it to week 0 by 2028 and that wooshing sound you’ll hear is the two ADs sprinting to sign that contract for the extra $10-15m.
