Hey Twitter 👋🏾
Big News!!!
@KNIME
Analytics Platform, one of the leading low-code open-source software for creating data, analytics and science solutions, is excited to Introduce the KNIME Africa Users Community - starting with Lagos.
I feel sorry for Beyonce’s haters.
The whole world seems to be experiencing immense joy while they sit with their pain and think of ways to discredit her.
Hey Analyst,
Are you looking for virtual internships to practice your analytics skills?
is an open-access platform designed to unlock exciting careers for students by connecting them with our company-endorsed Virtual Work Experience Programs.
Hi Twitter,
My name is Maryam and I am a Data Analyst
From January (next week already), I’ll be tweeting about my daily tasks, what I am learning, resources and communities that are beneficial to my growth as a data analyst.
Beyoncé is the artist of my life and this concert way beyond my imagination.
3 hrs of intense emotions and excitement. I couldn’t record a single moment because I was fully immersed in the experience.
See you in Paris, London, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Houston

Career Rehab isn't easy.
I spent the last three months resting, relearning and recalibrating. I'm thankful for the support and love I got from friends and my family.
Today, I start a new journey leading and driving BI Analytics in Luxury Retail Fashion.
Beyoncé is coming tonight.
I've picked my Ivy Park look.
Set up my TV.
I got my extra soft tissue paper for the tears (I've missed her on stage🥲)
Set up a video call with some Hive friends 🐝
It feels so good to Be Aliiiiiiiiiiiiiive!
How February went:
1. Launched a personal website and published three blog posts.
2. My mentee got a job
3. Connected with the Data Community in Lagos
4. Connected with 20+ data enthusiasts via 1:1 mentoring sessions
5. Cleared backlog & engaged in weekly challenges.
I just presented my paper.
I was so shy, but I answered all the questions confidently.
I've grown so much.
Once upon a time, I'd work on projects and ask someone else to present on my behalf.
Glad to share the great news!
Under the supervision and excellent mentorship of Adebowale Owoseni I wrote my first academic research paper Titled: “Toward Improved Data Quality in Public Health: Analysis of Anomaly Detection Tools applied to HIV/AIDS Data in Africa.”

How March went:
- I prioritised personal care
- I resigned
- I slept for 8+ hours daily
- 80% of the participants in my
#100DaysofData
cohort passed the Azure Data Fundamentals Exams.
- I drafted Q2 2022 plans
I’m happy I give Beyoncé her flowers while she is alive.
She did more for Afrobeats than anyone else could ever! Yet Nigerians were extremely ungrateful.
Filmmaker Ayo Shonaiyo talks about why he has mixed feelings towards Beyoncé’s “The Gift” album vs. Music Executive, Obi Asika and Sesan Adeniji from My Streetz Magazine talk about what Beyoncé’s impact on Afrobeats meant.
This is my first viral tweet lol.
If you want to learn Microsoft Power BI or PowerApps, hit me up. I'm willing to connect you with a community of business/data Analysts in Nigeria. It's free!

If you enjoy the learning modules on Duolingo, you'll definitely enjoy Mimo.
Mimo is a fun and interactive app for learning programming languages like
Python
SQL
Additionally, there is a career path module in web development and a thriving community.

The tone of communication is a big issue I've noticed with ‘leaders’ in the Nigerian data space.
You're allowed to critique and share feedback without demeaning the efforts of data learners.
Let's practice kindness 🙏🏾
Today was amazing.
Thank you all so much for coming to the KNIME session. The breakout session isn’t recorded but I’ll send an email with the workflow, slides, a video recording and all the useful links.
Look out for my next newsletter 😉

Have you read STORYTELLING WITH DATA by Coke Nussbaumer Knaflic?
If you haven’t , please go and read it. Buy the book or get it online.
Can anyone volunteer to read the book and reply with chapter he/she wants to explain
It's only Nigerians I know that need someone to message them continuously before seeking assistance.
Please only text me when you need my help. I know my friends, and I'm not great at holding endearing conversations.
This week’s recap
#DocumentingmyDataJourney
:
Monday:
• I officially resumed back to my job
• Started my coaching sessions with the first

Day 1:
We started learning Excel for Data Analytics by
@simplilearn

I've received a lot of questions about the next cohort.
The next one starts in January. I’m teaming up with a senior data consultant to provide two cohorts:
1) Foundational - Data Fundamentals
2) Intermediate - Dimensional Modelling
We’ll share updates in November.
We have over 110 registered people for DataFestAfrica in less than 13 hours.

I cared about my degree.
I worked hard for it. Attending classes during COVID-19 was challenging, yet I graduated with Distinction, and I was recognised for submitting an outstanding research paper.
Nigerians are achievers. We care about our degrees and education.
I attended
@DavidAbu_
‘s session today at
@scottishsummit
, and you had to be there.
He simplified Microsoft Fabric in 20 minutes! The audience was attentive, excited and curious to uncover the power of Microsoft Fabric.
From Lagos to Manchester, David is phenomenal!
Linda Igwetu,
You brightened every room with your beautiful personality.
You loved and you are loved.
Your name will always be remembered.
Rest on Queen👑

I should show my playful side more on the TL.
I actually enjoy writing random sql queries. Life is a database innit?
Check out the subtitle on my recent blog post 😂
Me to my Nigerian supervisor:
Best regards,
Maryam
His response:
Hello Folashikemi
😂😂
I love how he insists on calling me by my Yoruba name.
Even Chimamanda insists my name is Folashikemi first💜
No matter how desperately you want Renaissance tour tickets please do not buy from anyone on social media.
I got scammed by
@danielpreaton1
.
He blocked me but I don’t want anyone to fall victim.
I talk about missing home, but where is home these days?
My friends and family are scattered across the globe, each with their realities.
Nothing makes sense 💔
To help you understand how invaluable this book has been, I wrote a summary of each chapter with comprehensive insights shared.
P.S: You’ll still need the book as this is only a summary of elements I found interesting and stuck with me.

“The reality is: sometimes you lose. And you’re never too good to lose. You’re never too big to lose. You’re never too smart to lose. It happens.”
— Beyoncé Knowles
I meet a lot of DAs and DSs that have no exposure to enterprise-level analytics, and it worries me.
These boot camps have consistently recycled the same projects; hence very little attention is given to problem-solving and developing business acumen.
Thank you for sharing the benefits of washing our hair regularly, but please, it stops there. You aren’t the foundation of hair care. The knowledge doesn’t start and end with you.
So many think pieces on the latest celebrity haircare line but I want the record to show that the curl stylists were the first to say it probably isn’t going to be useful for much 🤷🏾♀️
They are already rewriting history in our presence. People are falling for Babajide’s lies.
Lagosians, please dry your tears Apply pressure on Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the truth!
DO YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO HEAR LIES ABOUT OUR MOVEMENT IN FUTURE?

I finally got to see my amazing friend in person.
@oluremi_x
is so beautiful and gracious 😍
She teaches me all about money and beauty.
Can you tell me had so much fun at
@Risevest
MoneyRise Conference?

@pejubabyy
That's on you for wailing over her touring locations. Girl! It's that deep.
Every day you weirdos look for ways to use her name for engagement. Note this:
- She's not coming
- I dont care if you can afford it in ‘oNtArIo’
• I graduated with Distinction in Data Analytics and my research on Anomaly Detection for healthcare data is in view for publication.
• Outside of tech stuff, I love art, Beyoncé and books.
