It is with great sadness that we learned yesterday that our bandmate and friend LD Beghtol has passed away. LD sang several songs on 69 Love Songs, and also designed the covers and booklet art for the 3-disc set. LD also made the book 69 Love Songs: A Field Guide (33 1/3) .

It is with great sadness that we hear of the death of our first singer, Susan Anway. We met Susan in the 80's in Boston, when she was the singer of a local band, "V;". She sang lead vocals on the first two Magnetic Fields albums, "The Wayward Bus" and "Distant Plastic Trees".

Claudia: The band was playing “Papa Was a Rodeo” on Lisbon live TV, 2001. Just before the final chorus, right when I was about to sing on TV for the first time, they cut and moved to the credits! I just sat there glumly while the rest of the band chuckled.
