I disagree. Kindness shouldn’t have to depend on your familiarity with the individual. Anyone kind to you because you’re in a relationship with them is doing it for selfish reasons and I’m not sure that’s what kindness should be about.
I feel like kindness is almost automatic when someone loves you. The same person will most likely stop being kind to you if things go south.
