STARlink. A SpaceX Falcon 9 transits our star while lofting the Starlink 4-29 group into orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base this afternoon.

This is a composite image of SN10's launch and landing. I set this camera to shoot one frame a second, threw out any overlapping shots and stacked them all so we can see the trajectory better.

I'm curious what this green flash is, if it were Falcon 9 the no brainer answer would be TEA-TEB - but Raptor just uses spark ignitors. It was visible during engine ignition for SN10's flip maneuver, specifically when the third and final engine lit.

Starship SN10's post landing demise is unfortunate but still, everyone at SpaceX can chalk todays flight test up as a huge success. Become a patron at the link below for photo downloads, behind the scenes goodies, and more.

’s Starship Serial Number 6 becomes the second Starship prototype to successfully complete a 150m hop. Congratulations to everyone whos hard work enabled this triumph of engineering.
@NASASpaceflight
Today is the 1 year anniversary of Starhopper’s 150m hop. Still some of the most fun I’ve ever had, shooting one of the coolest things I’ve ever photographed/witnessed. Mmm methalox mach diamonds.
@NASASpaceflight
A Raptor Engine labeled “Under Doge” (serial number unknown) was delivered to the Starship build site in Boca Chica just now, and Raptor SN56 (green nozzle) took its place on the Raptor van, presumably headed back to Hawthorne or Mcgregor.
@NASASpaceflight
Scenes from the crash site. Starship SN9 made a valiant effort to stick the landing but ultimately failed. Its wreckage is now strewn about the launch site as a result. Good effort SN9, good luck SN10. (Check out the Raptor guts in the third photo!)
@NASASpaceflight
Starship SN15 coming in for a landing on two engines. This is the dawn of a new era in spaceflight! So long expendable rockets, hello full and rapid reuse! The future just got a little brighter.
@NASASpaceflight
Starship SN10 launched *and* stuck the landing today! Even if it fell over shortly afterward, a huge milestone has been reached. /thread
@NASASpaceflight
Thirty. Three. Raptors.
Super stoked to have captured Booster 9 and her Raptor engines in their glory this morning - the was the first time all 33 were successfully ignited with continuous burn through first stage flight.

Deimos, one of the oil rigs SpaceX is planning on converting into a floating Spaceport, as seen from the air today, 01-19-21. Its name has been painted on the helipad and lifeboats, so cool.

Two Alpha Jets flying past the full Starship stack. It never ceases to amaze me the things you can see in Starbase when you are at the right place at the right time.
@NASASpaceflight
This is what the faces of two super nerds look like after witnessing the culmination of two years of Starship chasing. So glad we got a moment together today Tim!

I've been exploring around the Port of Brownsville while waiting for Starship testing and found an oil rig that appears to be named Deimos, after one of the moons of Mars! Based on job postings and
@elonmusk
's tweets, I'm willing to bet that SpaceX is involved.
@NASASpaceflight
Starship SN9 has become the second starship prototype to conduct a high altitude test flight, and the second to have a hard landing. No matter, SN10 is nearly ready for its try.

Seeing two Starships on the pad at the same time can only be described as surreal. SN9 is on Suborbital Pad B (left) and SN10 is on Suborbital Pad A (right).

Congratulations to everyone at SpaceX for a truly outstanding job. Thank you all for your hard work bringing us the future of spaceflight and indeed, humanity.

Two Raptor engines were delivered to Starbase Boca Chica this morning. RSN72 "Philosoraptor" and RSN74 "Plaid Mode". Two other Raptors were loaded onto the truck and left. RNS59 and another one that I didn't catch the serial number of.

Starship SN10 has had its flight termination system installed! This is one of the important final indicators that a test flight is imminent. Check out the red “remove before flight” tags visible on them in the third shot.

Booster 7 completed its latest round of testing and Booster 8 was rolled to the Launch Site. Meanwhile, the B7.1 test tank was rolled back to the Production Site.

4 Reaver engines blasting Firefly's Alpha rocket into orbit from SLC-2 at VSFB this morning. Once again congratulations to everyone whose hard work resulted in last nights wildly successful launch.

Scenes from the crash site. Starship SN10 landed, but shortly after experienced a RUD. This is the aftermath of that rapid unscheduled disassembly. Check out the mangled Raptor Engine in the 4th pic!
@NASASpaceflight
The pad’s not looking too bad post flight! I still cant believe Starship 29 managed to make it all the way to the water. (Go little flap go!)

Here's a 93 megapixel composite image of Raptor Serial Number 44, it's so detailed you can read the labels on the plumbing! Full resolution at the link below, downloads available to members of my Patreon (link in bio).

Starship SN10 looks set to attempt a test flight tomorrow! I always enjoy spending sunsets with these vehicles on the eves of their potential success or destruction.

Raptor Engine evolution. Raptor 2 on the left, Raptor 1.5 on the right. Makes me wonder what the *next* generation of Raptor (Raptor 3?) will look like.
@NASASpaceflight
Starship SN15 is ready and waiting with flaps extended for its chance to fly (and hopefully land without exploding) - but it won't be today, launch has been scrubbed. Photos taken at the launch site just now.
@NASASpaceflight
This has to be my favorite shot from SN11’s rollout yesterday. The tiny people in the foreground provide a sense of scale that is sometimes hard to convey with Starship.
