LAUNCH! Starship SN5 has launched on a 150 meter test hop at SpaceX Boca Chica.
Under the power of Raptor SN27, SN5 has conducted what looks like a successful flight!
Listen to the SpaceXers cheer!

STATIC FIRE and wow! Ship 20 fires up, with thrust this time, for a multi-engine test at SpaceX Starbase.
(Ship 20 has three sea-level Raptors and three RVacs. Hopefully,
@elonmusk
will tweet some info!)
STATIC FIRE! Booster 7 fires up multiple engines (the target was for seven). Let's see if
@elonmusk
confirms all seven, (which would be a new record!)
Super cool!
If you're trying to explain size and capability to friends and family, this BBC infographic really helps (and Starship is evolving capability all the time). From

HUGE WIN! Ascent was amazing, and the engine outs look like they were intentional. The big win was stable return. Flip was great! Just strong on the landing with a Raptor struggle.
Rewind on NSF stream. Mary (
@BocaChicaGal
) tracking was amazing.
Stunning photos of Dragon 2 docking from Oleg Kononenko!
He was monitoring from the Russian section, near the Soyuz, due to Rocosmos contingency procedures.
Hires set:
Some sweet TVC (Thrust Vector Control) gimbal action from the Center 9 Raptor gang on the Booster.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the Booster steers.
STATIC FIRE! Booster 7 fires up in a milestone test. We'll need SpaceX/Elon to confirm how many engines! But that looked super controlled, and everything appears intact (a big win!)

Pics:
Going to be a lot of Raptors on the aft end of the big booster!
STATIC FIRE! Ship 25 fires up what appears to be six Raptors for a decent duration in a key test ahead of the second Starship test flight.
Good performance
@elonmusk
?
Farewell shot of Booster 9, which performed amazingly with all 33 engines smiling all the way up. Went out with a bang.

Starship operational flights will initially be focused on cargo missions, and you can imagine how many Starlinks they'd be able to push uphill inside this!
This is real-time! Raptor 2 wiggling like a champ via its electric TVC (Thrust Vector Control) at SpaceX McGregor.
While the Rocket Cows didn't show much interest, this is important progress for Starship per fast response steering control during flight.
Ship 29 makes it through re-entry, minus part of a flap, and does a bellyflop!
And...............no way! It looked like a flip and burn and soft splashdown?!
STATIC FIRE! Booster 7 with a long-duration Static Fire test.
"~20 sec firing with max oxygen fill to test autogenous pressurization" - was what
@elonmusk
preempted. Not sure how many Raptors, but looked great!

This is a tricky one given that I believe said helium pressurization was added to the CH4 header tank to mitigate what happened with SN8.
That's why it's a test program, of course.
@austinbarnard45
SN10 engine was low on thrust due (probably) to partial helium ingestion from fuel header tank. Impact of 10m/s crushed legs & part of skirt. Multiple fixes in work for SN11.
@elonmusk
Does this sound about right, Elon?
Cryotest today, then WDR next week. Destack for 33 engine Static Fire. Final TPS work on Ship 24. Re-stack. Launch License.
Possible end of Feb/Early March if all goes well (per your previous timeline)?
Ship 25 FTS triggered. But what a win!
Amazing performance from the Booster - firing all 33 going uphill. Hotstaging worked. All six engines on Ship 25 firing for a long duration.
And all our cams around the pad are OK. No rock tornados this time! Thanks Water Deluge System!
STATIC FIRE! Booster 9 fires up 33 engines (pending confirmation). Potentially for the final time before launch day!
Super smooth count and that looked great! Full duration confirmed by SpaceX.
Wow,
@hazegrayart
does it again, with an imagining of Starship hot staging. Even has the SpaceXers and crowd reacting on the audio.

SpaceX Falcon Heavy is now vertical on 39A ahead of the launch of EchoStar 24 (Jupiter 3) tonight.
This will be the heaviest satellite launched to a geostationary transfer orbit, massing 9.2 tonnes.
SpaceX update on Starship.
Claims SpaceX has been ready to fly since August (vehicle readiness), but "recently received a launch license date estimate of late November from the FAA".
"This delay was not based on a new safety concern, but instead driven by superfluous
FAA closes Starship mishap investigation from Booster 7/Ship 24's test flight. Following was emailed out by the FAA:
"The FAA has closed the SpaceX Starship Super Heavy mishap investigation.
"The final report cites multiple root causes of the April 20, 2023, mishap and 63
STATIC FIRE! Starship SN11 has fired up her three engines ahead of a test flight (as early as Tuesday), pending good test data (looked/sounded good!)

Some interesting notes:
Flight 4 in a month or so. Aim to get through the high heating regime. Into the ocean at a controlled spot - a virtual tower (soft water landing technique).
If that works, "Flight 5 will land on the Tower" (catch the booster with the chopsticks).

To the uninitiated and casual followers. IN THE LAST TWO DAYS SpaceX concluded the mission that returned US domestic crew launch and return capability, then test hopped a prototype rocket that is destined to be the first vehicle to land humans on Mars.
THAT'S why we're excited!
