This shit happened before GKMC even happened man.
Snoop Dogg to Kendrick Lamar ten years ago: "You better run with it." . In 2011 (just 1 month after the release of 'Section.80') a group of West Coast icons passed the torch to Kendrick. Since then, he has dropped 3 albums, won 13 Grammys, and received a Pulitzer Prize.

This actually needs to be taken a step further. It’s not Hot Ones and Sneaker shopping that’s doing rap media badly. It’s shit like the breakfast club, these alt right media blogs etc. the people who are suppose to be doing the good stuff not doing it.
Tyler The Creator says artists need to stop going on Sneaker Shopping & Hot Ones and talk about the music during his interview with Nardwuar 👀 thoughts ?

Him losing on the lyrical front was one thing but him losing when it came to the hits was something I didn’t even expect.
Drake was “never going to win” because he’s not the better artist. Like preferences aside if u don’t have wool duct taped over your eyes the shit is obvious. And u can get that direct from his recent music literally.

I’m so glad somebody finally touched on this. The 5 year span between DAMN and MMTBS and honestly Kendrick not dropping super often and being so quiet contributed to this. It was probably alot of people first time really tuning into him a music.
Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" not only won him his battle against Drake, it connected him with Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha in a way his music hadn't before. LINK FOR FULL STORY:

- him bringing up the extortion talk knowing that can be easily flipped .- Taylor made and the AI voices .- the slave bar .- moving too fast imo and not really knowing his opponent that well. There’s more but that’s what i took from it.
Despite rapping at a high level, Drake made several crucial, head scratching mistakes tactically in this battle that I would love to sit down and ask him about.

That nigga don’t fuck with everybody and if you take Drake out the equation for the economy of rap wouldn’t that force listeners to listen to other artists?.
The “culture” tryna kill off the nigga that fuck with everybody. That make every nigga some bread for a nigga we never see lol I can’t go for it dawg I’m sorry. And I fw both sides but that shit bad for the economy of rap.
