Due to our temporary closure, we faced the prospect of our perishable items going to waste. Many items were prepared for future use and remaining perishables were donated to Kidsafe, a local charity that provides safe havens for vulnerable kids when schools are closed.

is Alex Gerber Turriff, who is a worker at the DTES Connections Clinic. “I would like to nominate my daughter, Alex as my hero”, says Mom, Ellen Gerber. “She and her colleagues work with some of the city’s most vulnerable to support and keep them safe.”

Talk about a force of nature! 🏒 Our Avalanche Minor Hockey teams had a tremendous year and capped it off with their annual Year End Party last night. From awards to games, the teams showed they have just as much fun off the ice as they do on it.
