@DigiDoggi I was frequently the one in charge of on-site capable repair and bulb replacement, and I kind of enjoyed it when allowed to do it properly/safely, which was... ~60% of the time? But yeah, the protection booth was most of the time very chill

@SpaceGunX High enough that even when handling at proper cool temperatures, the standard safety gear includes full face guard, protective body jacket and gloves, as the bulbs are under very high internal pressure

"Bump it into what?" you may ask. Oh, just the reflector that has a hole just big enough to slip the bulb through and you have to do it one handed for most of the travel and can barely see it while doing so. All while it's hot enough to feel through the safety gloves 🫠

Mind you all training and safety precautions advised shutting down the projector, and letting the bulb cool for at least 45-60 minutes before handling. Then I remember I'm glad I'm not at that job anymore lol

@kekekeball They're such densely packed messes, but there's a visual appeal in it, weirdly. Mine is an LD-S1, and I honestly dreaded having to fully tear it down purely because of the idea of then having to... put it back together lol What's your player?

@gerbinflerbin I have plenty of scrapes and scratches from those two sandwiched boards specifically... to get those out requires removing nearly all the boards from the bottom, plus the drive and loading mechanism, all to free up enough space to slide them out 🫠
