OPINION: I agree with the court’s decision because it was fair. It followed the rules of the constitution and granted far use of our rights.

On June 21, 1989, In Johnson’s defense, the majority argued freedom of speech protects actions that society may find offensive, but society alone cannot suppress free speech. The case was decided in favor of Johnson and flag burning was now a form of protected free speech.

After asking if flag burning was a form of symbolic speech in the Supreme Court, the majority of the Court, according to justice William Brennan, agreed with Johnson!! They held that flag burning was a form of symbolic speech and is protected by the First Amendment!
