Congrats to Kade and Morgan Hodges of Sterling County! They’re the winners of the American Farm Bureau’s Achievement Award competition! They raise sheep, goats and Angus-cross cattle on their ranch in Sterling City. They also own a feedlot and graze their sheep on solar farms. As the winner, they will receive a $35,000 credit toward a new Ford, courtesy of Ford Motor Company. #afbf25

When snow falls in Texas, farmers and ranchers don’t flake on their responsibilities. In fact, they have more work to do. Snow days bring unique challenges, but it's all in a day's work. Even the next generation bundles up to lend a hand, learning what it takes to care for the animals and the land. Because when it comes to ranching, responsibility never takes a snow day. Brrr!! It’s another day of below-freezing temperatures, and some areas have received quite a bit of snow. But farmers and ranchers are hard at work caring for livestock through this winter storm. They’re breaking ice in water troughs and stock tanks. Feeding hay and checking on their animals. Helping newborn animals stay warm and survive. Because it’s just what they do. Despite the long hours and cold days and nights, farmers and ranchers work hard to make sure livestock are cared for. 🎥: @matt_boerner @BrandonBoerner
