A recent selfie with
@JamesMartinSJ
. I look forward to seeing Father Martin, along with LGBTQ lay people, clergy, scholars, artists, educators, students, and allies, at tomorrow's Outreach LGBTQ Catholic Ministry Conference.
Yesterday we honored the life and legacy of Vin Scully, FCRH ’49, at a memorial Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. It was a beautiful tribute to Vin—a master storyteller, man of faith, and beloved member of the Fordham family. Thanks to all who joined us, especially Vin’s family.
Meet Fordham’s first dog, Archie Tetlow. My family and I fell in love with him when he first arrived at our home as a puppy. We hope you love him, too. Follow

Today was my in-person introduction to WFUV (90.7 FM), Fordham’s noncommercial, member-supported public media service. Here I am with
@wfuvsports
Director Bobby Ciafardini (L) and
@wfuv
general manager Chuck Singleton.
Special shoutout to my husband and best friend, Gordon, who has been so supportive during this new chapter of our lives. And of course, thank you for welcoming us to the Ramily,
@FordhamNYC
.
Visited Murray-Weigel Hall, a home for retired Jesuits. Their collective IQ and sense of humor was palpable. (Fun fact: Within their home is the chapel where my parents first met.) A few of them recall meeting me when I was a toddler. I’m grateful for our reunion, decades later.
Last night was Fordham Night at Yankee Stadium. Here I am with Trustee Kim Bepler, Ed Kull, Fordham’s athletic director, and Keith Urgo, men’s basketball coach.

The Rams erase a halftime deficit for the NINTH (!) time this season to improve to 19-5 overall, the team's highest single-season win total since 1990-91.
What a beautiful and joyous day to start this new chapter at Fordham. Families and friends, thank you for entrusting us with your students. Know that we will treat them as our own. And
#Fordham2027
: Welcome home.
Happy first day of
#spring
, Rams. 🌸 The pollen might wreck our sinuses, but the blossoming trees and flowers are beautiful beyond measure. I can’t wait to see our campuses in full bloom—and Eddie’s filled with students, of course.
A recent meeting with the remarkable John Feerick, Dean Emeritus of
@FordhamLawNYC
and a triple Ram. A governor once described him as “the one individual who is pre-eminent among all New Yorkers in standing for the principles of integrity in government.”
Move-In Day at the Rose Hill campus. This is one of the most emotional days in the University calendar—right behind Commencement. Students are full of nervous excitement; parents are full of pride, and not a little sad to be sending their students off to college.
@FordhamNYC
Last weekend, for the second year in a row,
@FordhamNYC
hosted the Outreach Conference on Catholic Ministry and the LGBTQ community. With welcome letters from
@Pontifex
and
@CardinalDolan
, the conference created (as the pope described in his handwritten note) …
.
@FordhamNYC
is nationally recognized for its campus trees, including one of the oldest American elms in New York City, but sadly, we don’t have any palm trees. These were a welcome sight at
@LoyolaMarymount
, our fellow Jesuit university in Los Angeles.
Met some of our nation’s most significant leaders, many of whom either graduated from
@FordhamNYC
or represent our districts. Ended the day with the Congressional Independent Colleges Caucus reception. What an incredible way to cap off this trip to our nation’s capital.

@NYBG
President Jennifer Bernstein and I recently met and discussed ways to expand our partnership. The garden and
@FordhamNYC
have been neighbors for more than a century, and we’re looking forward to continue growing together. 🌱
On behalf of all of us who celebrate Mardi Gras, over the last few days, we lit the McShane Center purple, green, and gold. This is a time for us to come together, to celebrate all that we have and all that we are.

On a visit to Fordham London, here at Westminster Abbey with Fordham crew (L-R) Ainsley Woakes, Michael Griffin, Roger Milici, and Taylor Ha.
@FordhamNYC
Celebrating my one-year anniversary at Fordham today. In a year full of joy, challenges, and growth, the greatest gift has been meeting all of you. I'm "nex-cited" (nervous and excited, as my daughter describes it) to start year two. See you in August!
For the first time in more than five decades,
@FordhamMBB
is off to a 10-1 start after last night’s win against
@binghamtonu
. Proud Ram mama over here. 🐏❤️
Cheering on Fr. McShane as he receives the highest honor of
@CatholicHighrEd
. He made the enormous crowd laugh and cry and remember why we work so hard.
My grandmother’s St. Francis statue found a permanent home at
@MontserratJRH
, a Jesuit retreat house inspired by the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius.
To quote the lyrics of our own Dr. Stevie Wonder: “Change your words into truth, and then change that truth into love.” Graduates, we’re so proud of you and all the ways you will make our world a better place. Congratulations, Class of 2023!
When I found out that
@FordhamNYC
student Abigail Dziura won a Truman Scholarship, I called her and surprised her with the good news. As a 1991
@TrumanApp
Scholar myself, it was thrilling to learn that one of our own students was selected this year. We're so proud of you, Abby.
Fordham President Tania Tetlow has been named to the
@CityAndStateNY
Higher Ed Power 100 list of New York’s most influential academic leaders—those making the biggest difference both on campus and off.
@TetlowTania
The Bronx. It's the Bronx!
That's not surprising if you've spent any time here—as a newcomer, I've been awed by the borough's green spaces.

@FordhamNYC
Meeting so many incredible leaders at
@jesuitcolleges
,
@CatholicHighrEd
, and
@NAICUtweets
events in D.C. Some highlights so far: eating lunch with AJCU President Michael Garanzini, S.J., and moderating a panel about improving civic learning in Catholic colleges and universities.
Met the incredible Patricia Clarkson, FCLC ’85, last night. (Fun fact: Patricia is a New Orleans native who transferred to
@FordhamNYC
from Louisiana State University. We’re so lucky she chose us.)
Tonight we celebrated our newly admitted students from local Jesuit, Cristo Rey, and Catholic high schools, as well as their family and school counselors. We can’t wait to welcome you back to
@FordhamNYC
this fall.
.
@FordhamNYC
: Today is the Feast of St. Ignatius, when we celebrate our founder, the intellectual and moral genius who left us an extraordinary legacy. But rather than brag about Ignatius himself, we serve his legacy better by remembering his teachings.
Thank you to
@EmeraldTreeCo
for planting this beautiful magnolia tree in honor of my new presidency. It’s a lovely addition to our campus, and I look forward to seeing it grow.
Just wrapped up our final diploma ceremony. So proud of all our grads, including our seven honorary doctorate recipients. View my Instagram at

Many university presidents are concerned about a fall-winter resurgence of COVID-19: people, like college students, who live in congregate settings are more at risk for exposure to the virus. I'm getting my booster today.
@FordhamNYC
It’s such a wonderful time of year to come together and celebrate the holidays, especially after these last few years. What a blessing to be with you all at
@FordhamNYC
.✨
#PresidentsClubChristmasReception
Today we celebrate the extraordinary legacy of our Irish ancestors, including
@FordhamNYC
’s founder, Archbishop John Hughes. Thank you
@NBCNewYork
for interviewing me (at 7:37) and for recording us marching up Fifth Avenue (at 25:40). Sláinte!
We have been in negotiations with SEIU, the union representing many of our part-time and full-time non-tenure-line faculty. I am happy to tell you that Fordham has accepted the union’s most recent offer and reached a tentative agreement, subject to approval by their membership.
