@CaryWilmington It's part of Health and Human Services, and its leaders are political appointments. Industry capture is certainly a huge issue, but that's not the same thing as the CDC being private.

I see a lot of posts claiming the USAID has been shut down, but really, it's being rolled into the State Department headed by Marco Rubio, who previously did work through USAID. In other words, the government didn't get any smaller. A new gang leader is simply shaking things up.
