Honestly this Penguin Pal feels like a good example of Palworld actually doing a unique design.
They're both soldier birds but manage to execute the concept differently. I'd like to see more like this.

To give an example of a neat inspiration trying to be different. Take Spooki-Onna from Cassette Beasts.
Note it has influences from the Yuki-Onna & Froslass. But it felt like there was at least some thought into making the design features different from each other.

Yeah that's a good point. A part of me wished I reworded the opening portion but I'm unsure how I would've worded it otherwise. I assume it felt right at the time largely because of the specific more blatant designs but I'll admit it can't apply to all of them.

Honestly my favorite thing about the updated models and poses we've seen is that they feel both cartoony yet life like at the same time. As you said, they seriously feel like they took note from the design references for the Anime. I hope they stick with it in the future.

This actually is a really nice way to tweak it! Especially the face.
I actually really love this lil' cheshire now.
Instead of adding to the controversies, I want to rework some Pals that are a bit too on the nose. I feel this would be a fun little project to show that yes, you can take inspiration, but you've also got to take an extra step to make it distinct.

DO NOT email or try to retaliate TPCi, Gamefreak, or Nintendo. The staff on Relic Castle are taking care of it professionally by themselves and any attempt at doing stuff on your own will likely make things worse. Just putting it out there.
Seeing Relic get a claimed takedown is actually upsetting since I've been a long time member of the site.

I just realized the logo for Pokémon Legends Z-A might be meant to evoke a serpent hugging a flower or tree (hence the veins).
This alludes to Níðhöggr (Zygarde's inspiration) gnawing on Yggdrasil (The Ultimate Weapon?)
