Does America understand that the NBA bubble is literally just them using the proper isolation, distancing, mask and testing protocols and that if our federal government and state officials had done what the NBA is doing back in March and stuck with it THAT WE’D BE OKAY BY NOW

I started dating a girl in college and my coach told me, "Girls can be a distraction. Stay focused."
That girl, btw, wasn't the most famous person in the world. She was an average Jane.
Beautiful things create distractions.
Klay Thompson on the crowd in the Garden tonight:
“We’ve played in front of rude people before, dropping F-bombs with children in the crowd. Real classy, good job Boston.”
Pat McAfee asked Aaron Rodgers which doctors he consulted “besides Dr. Joe Rogan” and Rodgers said “I definitely talked with about a dozen friends of mine who dealt with COVID then said “hate is not gonna bring us out of this pandemic”
🤢
Belichick asking Pat McAfee if he could come back and be on the show this season during the fall and then initiating a high five honestly kinda choked me up?! It's the first time he's seemed kinda just like a cute old grandpa 😭
Luke Kuechly was 10 yrs old when Tom Brady & the Patriots won their first Super Bowl.
He grew up, went to college, destroyed the ACC tackles record, got drafted 9th & had a Hall of Fame career — & when he retired, the reigning Super Bowl champions were Tom Brady & the Patriots.
@holy_schnitt
Some of the men defending looking at non-consensual pics would threaten violence against the same type of men if the pics were of their sister, daughter or mother. God forbid they extend humanhood to women who don’t have a direct relationship to them personally.
Every L.A. sports fan: You're a Patriots fan? Ew.
Me: I'm from there. I'm a fan of all Boston teams.
Every L.A. sports fan: Well I'm from [lame place] but my dad lived in NY til he was 7 so I root for the Yankees, Cowboys, Lakers, Steph Curry, Villanova and Serena Williams.
Tom Brady won the Citrus Bowl in 1999, won the Orange Bowl in 2000, got drafted in the 6th round then went 10-0 in the postseason before he finally lost his first NFL playoff game in January of 2006.
No one in the NFL right now is the next Tom Brady.
THREAD: Here’s why Drew Brees apology isn’t shit... imagine that four years ago, a fellow QB named Colin, also a black man, got fed up watching police go unpunished for killing black people and sat on the bench during the anthem in protest - to draw awareness to the issue.
The only ppl distracted by Taylor Swift at NFL games are the men w/ microphones. Everyone else is literally fine. They’re like “how much longer can the fans put up with that woman sitting at games?!”
Meanwhile NFL fans just want the refs to not make game-altering mistakes
In 2017 we were told that Colin Kaepernick, who played QB his whole life and started in a Super Bowl, wasn't good enough to play QB in the NFL anymore.
Just watching Broncos vs Saints and thinking a lot about that.
Hear me out what if the Patriots keep Bill Belichick and create an Expendables-type coaching staff of old men for one last ride.
Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, Ron Rivera. Throw Jim Caldwell and Norv Turner over on offense.
Really make a whole scene of it.
If Belichick had Tom Brady today, they win. If Tom Brady had Bill Belichick today, they win.
The good old days are so far away and so close all at once.
By making his 3rd Super Bowl, has Patrick Mahomes surpassed Tom Brady’s 10 Super Bowls, 14 conference championship games and 7 rings with a .749 career win pct in 335 regular season games across the span of 22 years?
We debate next on
Tom Brady is 43 years old with 3,300 yards and a 95.1 passer rating on the season and Belichick has kept a team with eight pre-season opt-outs, COVID interruptions and a new QB returning from a lost season in fringe playoff contention.
Evolve your Brady/Belichick takes.
It only took Tom Brady leaving, no OTAs, no preseason, a bunch of starters opting out of the season, delayed games, weeks with no practice, Cam Newton getting and recovering from COVID, some bad weather and the world's stupidest fumble. Congrats on your big win, guys 🙃
Through first five NFL seasons:
Andrew Luck - 70 games, 59.2 comp %, 87.3 passer rating and a 43-27 regular season record
Lamar Jackson - 70 games, 63.7 comp %, 96.7 passer rating and a 45-16 regular season record
Don’t tell me it’s about staying on the field.
@TanyaRayFox
The answer is very simple.. Lamar Jackson is expensive. However, he has missed 9 of the Ravens’ last 21 games. He is injury prone and at that price is a HUGE gamble.
And certainly not the end of Colin’s career. No, it was the “f**k Drew Brees” chants. He started giving a shit when it became about him. When he was suddenly the one who might lose what he loves.
In the words of the almighty Ed Reed: You’re a sucker for that one, Drew Brees.
Cam Newton deserves another shot in the NFL, and I really hope he gets a chance to compete for it. No other QB of Newton's caliber in recent memory has been so poorly and lazily analyzed and critiqued over the course of his career.
I'll be rooting for him wherever he goes.
"It's the National Football League. No one died." - Bill Belichick on

If this is Belichick’s last game as the head coach of the Patriots, he will have deserved much better than a season-long spectacle of fickle, whiny and often petulant fans and media acting like long-suffering losers. I will forever find it embarrassing.
Coach forever.
No one is ever catching Brady. Not Mahomes. Not anyone. It’s not happening.
More rings than Jordan. In the goddamn NFL.
Tom Brady is the greatest team sport athlete of all time.
The difference between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.
Aaron Rodgers can get it done with literally anyone.
Tom Brady needs a loaded offense and top defenses year after year after year.
Tom Brady, from age 41 to 45 compared to prime MVP Mahomes age 23 to 27. With a head to head AFC Championship and Super Bowl win over Mahomes in that span. Hot damn.
Tom Brady's obsession with Antonio Brown and his insistence that he remain on the team is a sign that maybe he didn't deserve the benefit of input that so many insisted Bill Belichick should've given him on the personnel front in New England
Tom Brady has unleashed more chaos on the NFL in 2.5 years with Tampa than he did in 20 years when Belichick was playing tough love dad with him in New England.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Brady needed the boundaries.
Bill Belichick is 68 yrs old, has eight rings and has coached in 12 Super Bowls. He is the foremost authority on American football over the last 35 years.
There are no Belichick hot takes to be had. The book is written. Read it. Move on.
There is not a reason in the world for Matt Patricia to still be calling this offense. I refuse to believe that someone else on that staff couldn’t do better than whatever this is
the internet is not talking enough about Paul Heyman getting on network TV last night and emasculating every alt-right alpha male wannabe that he could think of. Legendary.
Cam Newton is the better veteran QB option. He has been this whole time. The fans and media in Boston who've been clamoring for a Garoppolo trade have been brainwashed into believing an oft-injured system QB is a better option bc they fundamentally misunderstand the 2020 season
#Patriots
are not pursuing
#49ers
QB Jimmy Garoppolo, per sources. Cap space isn’t there and obviously Cam Newton will return. Additionally, the draft is flush with QBs. No Jimmy GQ reunion for the Pats in foreseeable future.
We don’t talk enough about the fact that millennials are the first generation of Red Sox fans in 100 years that have spent a majority of our lives watching Boston dominate the Yankees. We are truly blessed.
Another year of the Yankees being the favorite to play in the World Series. Another year of the Yankees coming nowhere close to winning a World Series. Hate to see it.
Jim Harbaugh is just the latest self-righteous man with a savior complex who doesn't give a shit who the woman in that situation might be or what they might want.
Jim Harbaugh says he'd raise the baby of any of his Univ. of Michigan football players if they had an unplanned pregnancy and couldn't or didn't want to care for the baby.
After all of the bravery of men and women across the country and world fighting for this cause, the thing that got through to Brees was the loss of his own reputation. Not the murders. Not the millions of protesters. Not the words of his teammates and peers for years and years.
This makes it sound like prior to NIL, major programs were prioritizing player education and job placement. They weren’t. They were unpaid skilled laborers who were hamstrung by insane rules watching the NCAA make tens of millions off their likeness. That’s the bottom line.
What I think Nick Saban is getting at—Kids going to 3/4 different schools, not getting developed properly, not getting degrees or plugged into professional networks for after football is not worth a couple hundred thousand $$$.
Real loser in that equation can be players.
(1/4)
Dynasty: Belichick benched a $100 million QB to continue starting a 6th round backup when everyone in America including Kraft told him it was stupid and then that backup turned out to be the greatest ever & they went to nine Super Bowls
Also Dynasty: but he was very arrogant????
Here’s why Mahomes isn’t already the GOAT: bc if he never played another game, Brady’s career would blow his out of the water.
If he can’t retire TOMORROW and have his career resume holds up against Brady’s, then he’s still got work to do.
He’s on his way. But he ain’t there
I did not think Julian Edelman potentially being a Hall of Famer would anger so many NY sports fans, but I guess when your teams haven't won anything in a decade this is the kind of stuff that can really send you over the edge
Then a former player and green beret said hey, a great way to honor the flag while also protesting would be to kneel, and so the black man listened, and knelt. Silently, respectfully. And everytime we saw it, we knew it was about police brutality. But the backlash was strong.
I had the craziest dream. They roasted Tom Brady in LA. Bill Belichick got an opening standing ovation and then Kevin Hart got them to take a shot with Robert Kraft. Gronk spiked a shot glass after telling 40 dick jokes. Ron Burgundy showed up. Ben Affleck yelled at everyone.
Tom Brady put his house up for sale before the 2019 season had even started. He wanted to prove he could win somewhere else. He did. The incessant finger pointing at Belichick, who ppl nearly unanimously praised for his roster construction most of 2 decades, is exhausting.
"Belichick wanted him out the door and last year he threw 56 touchdowns. I think that's a pretty good year."
Tom Brady's father did NOT hold back about his son's fallout with the Patriots.
Big Cat is a great example of how unconditional loyalty in this industry is exploited. You don’t owe people your career just because they recognized your talent and were smart enough to employ you. Katz became too good for Barstool a long time ago
He didn’t care that a military man had suggested it. Brees didn’t have a different plan, never participated in the discussion in earnest and went on with his life. Colin finished the season protesting, and was never given another tryout in the NFL. An unprecedented blackballing
Referring to Cam’s behavior at practice and with the media as a “charm offensive” is kinda gross. That phrase implies a lack of authenticity, when in reality, he’s the most emotionally honest QB the Patriots have had under Belichick
I couldn't be happier that Cam Newton was the first QB that led the Patriots post-Tom Brady, in a brutal year while we fought a pandemic. He embodied what everyone says they love about the Patriot Way. I feel bad for fans and media who can't appreciate what he brought in 2020
On
@weei
, Cam Newton said he's leaving Boston "immediately."
"I haven't seen my kid in three months! ... I'm a hands on dad, and when you negate that from a man, it weakens him. ... I'm just looking so forward to playing hide and seek with my kids."
Paul Pierce did not get stabbed ELEVEN times at a night club in September then never miss a game that season then go on to have a Hall of Fame career & give Kobe and LeBron some of their greatest on-court battles just to be included on a list with Ryan Hollins and Jason Whitlock
Guys listen I hate to be the one to have to tell you this but the Patriots played the Titans a lot better than this. Like, significantly better. And their best wide receiver is having 14 surgeries as we speak.
Cam Newton? Who went 7-8* with no weapons on a new team in a new offense with no off-season and was highly efficient throwing downfield and rushed for 12 TDs? Yeah that’s the guy I’m talking about
