Old friends meet, sup dandelion coffee and mull over the woodland gossip. It’s late spring, twilight stretches out long and gently towards night. Food for foragers is plentiful and there is time to enjoy the scents of the growing meadow grasses and late spring flowers.

I have just got back from another enchanting trip to the Isle of Arran. Last year when we visited we sought out some ancient cup and ring marked stones. After a long slow gestation this is the first piece of work resulting directly from that inspiration. More to come.

Themes of home and hearth fill my heart with joy and mystery. In my imagined world the cottage in the wood emanates power in the midst of nature and pulsates with positive healing. Of course in reality it is nature herself that fills us with hope.

I made this for an exhibition on the subject of Ballads. It was happening this time 3 years ago and was my favourite title that I have ever worked towards. This was for The Creggan White Hare.
