Rest in Peace, Kazuki Takahashi-sensei. Your manga has always and will always continue to inspire us for generations to come. We will take the messages you imparted onto the world through your art and live with them until we see you again.
Regardless of if you grew up with Yu-Gi-Oh or not, if you only played the card game or only read the manga, if you watched the anime in English or in Japanese, we were all brought together by one man's passion. He'll always be alive in our hearts. That's the lesson he taught us.
Forgive me for the OOC posting. This deeply affected me in many ways. From now on, I will use this account to try and archive every work of art from Takahashi-sensei. When I've done that, I will leave this account alone in memoriam of one of the greatest mangaka to ever live.
Takahashi-sensei was one of the most inspiring mangaka to me. The positive messages of his manga and the realistic way in which he portrayed them helped me as a kid and as I became an adult. His carefree nature and his ability to do anything he put his mind to were incredible.
"I competed in a Duel tournament with Sato, who drew the 5D’s manga! Not bad, not bad at all! sweats..
A while back I drank with Yuya, who was Yusei! Looks like he’s giving his all as an actor! Always energetic! It looks like it’s been a while since I last drew Yusei so why not!"
HELLBOY
In an interview, Takahashi-sensei reveals that he is a big fan of American comics and Hellboy is his favorite, including his drawing shown in the first image. Mike Mignola (creator of Hellboy) responded to this with his own Yu-Gi-Oh! crossover, shown in the second image.
Takahashi-sensei was such a free spirit. He would make an animation because he felt like it, he would learn how to make a 2.5D drawing in VR because he felt like it, he would come out of retirement and make a volume of a manga because he felt like it. Nobody could hold him back.
I know from experience and from friends that the Yu-Gi-Oh manga and card game have united millions of people, and I can't imagine anything making him happier. His love for games and what they represent was so beautiful. Seeing the world happy was what he wanted most of all. RIP❤️
Yu-Gi-Oh! by Kazuki Takahashi began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on September 14th, 1996.
We are all extremely grateful for what you've brought into our lives, Takahashi-sensei. Be it manga, anime or cards, millions have found happiness thanks to your work.
“The current administration really is betraying the country, and I’m worried about the future of Japan! It’s terrible!
Black Magician Girl: Really... Japan has become a difficult place to live in...
Black Magician: A fascist regime = The future is a Dark Dimension!
"In the early days when Yu-Gi-Oh! was being serialized, I used to include mini games in the manga. Yet again I am thinking of games that seem interesting, making prototypes with things like cardboard. This is a board game about dragons, right now the rules are under maintenance."
Kaiba: Too close!!
Jonouchi: This ain’t fair- ya know!!

"Players mutually support a transparent board with each other’s hands and roll a numberless dice, you move any finger to a mark on the board that corresponds with the dice. (if the board drops it’s a GAME OVER) You win when you reach the goal, it's a game for the corona age."
