The US government allowed the Syrian president into New York this week for the UN General Assembly - while blocking the Palestinian president from coming - but forgot to delete their tweet calling him a terrorist and offering a $10m reward for his capture. 🤦🏽♂️

I am disgusted by Reform UK's threats to people who have built a life in this country. They are coming for our neighbours. They are coming for our colleagues. They are coming for our friends. We are at a dangerous moment. This hatred cannot be appeased. It must be defeated.

Excellent point from former ambassador Craig Murray
Upgrading Palestine to an Embassy in London is good. But people are missing the key test. The UK must immediately upgrade its Consulate General in East Jerusalem to an Embassy and its Consul General to Ambassador. If they don't, Starmer is pretending.

Firstly, it's 'Prime Minister Starmer' to you. Secondly you can keep your Islamophobic tropes about our country to yourself. Your dismissive response on recognising the State of Palestine, coming from a man wanted by the International Criminal Court, proves our Govt was right.
There will never be a Palestinian state. Starmer, the British Mandate ended 77 years ago. You should focus on the Islamist surge in the UK, not on Israel.

Superb, as always, from Nesrine Malik -I would go further and say that it has taken 77 years to restore a right that should never have been denied in the first instance; such is the legacy of the British colonial mindset...

The British PM and others offered fine words, but after all the horror, many will say too little, too late. Palestinians need unfettered support – and now, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik

We welcome the British Government’s historic decision to formally recognise the State of Palestine. Today is not just about Palestine, but about Britain’s fulfilment of a solemn responsibility. This long-overdue recognition marks an end to Britain’s denial of the Palestinian

“My young son, 7, is under the rubble. My 15-year-old daughter is still under the rubble. My whole family is gone. What have they done to you, Netanyahu?” Palestinian father sobs with pain as he describes the bitterness of displacement.

There is no moral difference between putting people in gas chambers and burning people in safe zones inside tents. A holocaust is happening right before our eyes and the world is silent

Israel made a nurse deliver a baby via an emergency c-section from a beheaded mother. A beheaded mother. We live in a time of monsters https://t.co/8sFkydIIXY

An Israeli conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Ilan Volkov has been arrested at a protest near the Israel-Gaza border. Last week, a clip of him at the Royal Albert Hall condemning Israel’s actions in the almost two-year long war in Gaza went viral.
