THP-1 cells responded to vibrational stimulation by upregulating #PIEZO1 #mRNA. PIEZO1 upregulation was not associated with macrophage differentiation, but rather demonstrated the ability of human #monocytes to sense mechanical stimuli. @PeerJLife
