As our trip along the Turkey's Black Sea Coast line finally ends we head inland to the town of Safronbolu. It has world Heritage status due to its Ottoman style houses. We only had one day here as we had an appointment in Istanbul so we explored as much as we could. #safronbolu

We headed into the mountains just east of the Turkish town of Rize. The road got smaller and smaller and decided that we'd gone far enough - after all we were now 2,000m high. A local shepherd warned us not to walk into the woods as there were a lot of bears. !!.#vanlife

We wanted to create more space under the bed so whilst in Trabzon we got the spare tyre mounted on the back door. Suleyman from YΔ±lmazlar Makine designed, made & fitted an awesome rack for us. Marianne's now also uses it to put her morning coffee on, whilst lying in bed- genius.

On our way along the black sea coast we stopped in the city of Samsun. Found secure parking and visited Ataturk's ship. He lead Turkeys war of independence and ended the Ottoman empire. He sailed from Istanbul to Samsun with his colleagues to plan the revolution .#samsun
